Got this message from Dark Horse's myspace-

Portland State University alumni Mike Richardson, founder and president of Dark Horse Comics, Inc., and Neil Hankerson, executive vice president, have donated copies of all publications generated by Dark Horse over the years to Portland State, and will continue to provide copies of all future items produced by the company. This generous gift will result in a complete collection of the Dark Horse corpus to be preserved in the Portland State University Library Special Collections.

Please join us in celebrating this historic archive on Thursday, October 16th at 7:00pm.

Indeed!

Jeff Smith, creator of "Bone" recently donated his original comic pages from that series to the Ohio State library, his old school. Way cool- the library there is amazing, and they've got tons of original art archived. I'm hoping to make it back up there to the next festival of cartoon art they have- should be 2010, they just had one in 2007 and do it every three years. I got to go in 2004 and 2001 (when Jeff Smith and Will Eisner were guests.)

Always glad to hear that stuff like this is getting preserved and not tossed out in the trash like the old days.
