Personally, I thought it was the dog's danglies.
Personally, despite all the bashing I've seen elsewhere (quite a lot of people seem to be carrying their Internet Rage over the PT over to Skull), I thought it was a great addition to the series and the best blockbuster of the year so far (though when the competition was the personally underwhelming Iron Man....). It's not the best of them - that's still Raiders by a country mile - although Raiders sets the bar so high that it would be almost impossible to top it (Spielberg, Lucas, and Ford were all at the pinnacle of their careers for Raiders). It's better than Temple though, and probably Crusade too. Ford looked pretty good (with the fedora on, which was most of the time, or even in his college clothes, it was very easy to forget that we were watching a pensioner getting into tough fistfights and other death defying stunts), and Karen Allen is the dictionary definition of a MILF. 
I have to admit that the opening part felt off (some sort of archaelogical/treasure hunting opening would have been better IMHO), and it wasn't till the college bit that it seemed to become an Indy film. But from then on, it felt like a vintage Indy film. There were a couple of parts that seemed to be wandering into Pirates of the Caribbean/The Mummy territory, and mostly involving Shia Lebouf), but they were fairly restrained and didn't spoil things. Lebouf was likable and not allowed to upstage Indy, even in the end scene.
Spoilers:
The climax seemed a bit underwhelming, although I'm again judging it to the Raiders one, which was so awesome that you can't really beat it, as noted above. The whole spaceship and alien reveal did seem sit awkwardly in an Indy film, I'll have to chew that part over for a while, although it wasn't a dealbreaker issue. And what exactly happened to Spalko? Was she sent into the space between dimensions, or killed via head disintegration of some sort a la Belloq and the two main Nazi villains in Raiders?
Finally, it was nice to see Indy settle down eventually (Spielberg was wise enough not to saddle him with a 20/30 something female lead), and it's hard to see a better candidate than Karen Allen.
PS: Did anyone else get to see the spoof Raiders truck chase ad? Heh.

The wierdest thing happened last night.
In the spirit of Indiana Jones I found something long lost that I thought probably wouldn't exist anymore.
There was an episode of MASH on late last night that I'd NEVER seen before!!
I honestly thought they didn't exist!!

Ben: It's been hit-or-miss with everyone I've heard from who have seen the latest Indiana Jones flick. No one I've talked to seems to say, "It was OK". It was either they loved it or hated it. I'm in no hurry to see it, I must admit. Ford's double-talk after trashing Lucas and Star Wars for so long and then doing an about-face when his career tanked really turned me off to him and his movies. (Almost up there, but not quite, with Tom Cruise and his antics.)
JD: MASH!!!!! I love me some MASH! That's one show I can watch over and over again, despite the number of times I've seen the episode. BTW- Have you read the MedStar books from the EU? If you love MASH, you'll love those.

I don't know if any of you guys get up to Wizard World Chicago, but I'll be there next weekend. That's my last show for a few weeks -- doing GenCon instead of San Diego because of the KOTOR game guide and miniatures release. (Also, the rest of my gaming group from Auburndale -- St. Benedict's, to you Memphians born after 1988 -- will be reuniting there. Still nothing better to do after all these years...)

Man, John, I wish I could make it up there. Maybe someday. Nashville is as far north as I'm going to get this weekend. I'm going to do some filming for a commercial project I'm involved in. Have fun in Chicago, though, and take pics of KOTOR costumers for us.
Oh, and eat a Chicago-style hot dog for me, too. And some pizza.
