Hi, folks. As some of you have no doubt noticed by now, I’ve set up a subsection of Timetales devoted to the rare, the forgotten, the lost corners of the Star Wars universe. Here you can read books, magazines, articles, comics and listen to rare audio of Star Wars items that have never been reprinted and haven’t been seen by any second, third or even fourth-generation fan. This gives those newer fans a taste of what it was like back in da day, and gives us old-timers (25+) some nice nostalgia. I’ve been careful not to use stuff that LFL has at least somewhat available, so you won’t find “The Art of Star Wars,” “The Star Wars Storybook” or the published SW radio drama scripts here. This is strictly the out-of-print stuff.

So stop by Arcana Historica, and stay tuned to this thread to find out what’s coming there next -- as well as how you can contribute!

Very impressive!

EDIT:
Taking a look at "The Day After The Death Star". It's good to see The Incredible Gorilla Man getting his medal! wink

EDIT2:
Just finished it. Great story. The Arcana Historia really is an incredible resource.

And free comics never hurt! grin wink

Okay, here's what's going on with the site now:

I'm working on getting the entire SW Poster Monthly line of magazines to post online. I already have most of them and will be putting them up in order. I also have the 1979 children's book "Questions and Answers about Space" on the way as well.

Other items on the way include:
Marvel Illustrated 2: World of Fire
"The Constancia Affair," "The Kashyyyk Depths" and "Planet of Kadril" (courtesy of Darth Kevin)
"Planet of the Hoojibs" Read-Along Book (with mp3)
"The Force of Star Wars" by Frank Allnutt

Now, for your contributions: I'm looking for SW-related magazine articles from the 1977-1979 period. Specifically "Starlog," "Fantastic Films," "Cinefantastique," "Cinefex," movie reviews, interviews. If anybody can provide scans of those, that'd be great. You'll be publicly credited with providing the scans on the page.

I think you should make the link a little more prominent on the Time Tales page or make it a separate part of TF.N to give it more attention.

Sorry I'm so behind on scans. PM me a list of what I "owe" and I'll see what I can come up with.

Chris,

Great idea for a project, one that I am sure is going to benefit many, many fans.

I have posted a news article to TF.N highlighting Arcana Historica, to get more exposure.

Did you manage to add the Star Wars Question and Answer book? Actually, it was Q&A about the real world, but the book was hosted by Threepio and Artoo. I forget what year it was that I got it in, I think it was either '84 or '85, but I recall getting it as a RIF book back when I was in elementary school in North Carolina. I loved the book and then I lost it when we moved up north.

There were actually two of those, Knight: "Questions and Answers about Space" and "Questions and Answers about Computers." The Space one's on its' way via Ebay, and the Computers one will get its' turn. happy

Very fun! Thanks!

Suggestion:
How difficult would it be to put a NEXT PAGE button at the bottom of each page to make browsing easier. This way instead of clicking BACK, remembering what page you were on, and then clicking on the next number you could just move through the pages.

Again - I love it! Thank you.

Those "Question and Answer" books are very cool, they're like a slice of history. I have them both... the Computers one features "cutting edge" home entertainment like the Atari 2600 and the Odyssey 2!
"Home computer games utilize the household television set as a video display screen"! (pg. 59)
THe Random House mini books "C-3PO's Book About Robots" and "The Star Wars Book About Flight" are also great.

Yes indeed the Arcana Historica is a great guide to the lesser known classic publications... I've got almost all of them listed there, but there are always those still elusive gems that make the SW publications quest a truly ongoing one.

would the arcana historica be interested in the SW activity book or the ESB activity book. (mazes, crosswords, death star cookie recipe, make your own darth vader piggy bank, your own personalized autographed photo of luke skywalker, etc, coloring puzzles, word games etc.)
