A quick read, but still a solid story arc...just wish this was a 3 or 4 parter so we could see what happens next and give the whole thing some more substance to balance out the fast pacing.

Also the "pick-up" was an interesting little manuever there, hehe.

Solid little story here. It was a lot of fun and it was a good "bridge" story between the prequels and the classic trilogy. Liked the scene where Narra explains what happened.

"Who won the war?"

"You guys did."

The clones continue to be some of the most compelling characters in the EU. I also liked Luke's manuever at the end which is something I could definitely see Anakin doing.

Forgive my ignorance, but how is a Clonetrooper alive and well, from Clone Wars times, in the OT era? The clones from that time had accelerated aging, so shouldn't the Clonetrooper be either really old or dead? Otherwise, from a first look at it, it seemed to be a solid issue.

The clone should be in his sixties. He doesn't really look like it though. Still, really good issue.

He looks to be in his 50's or 60's at the very least.

After reaching "adulthood", the clones may only age at a normal rate.

Every new issue I try to give this series a chance, yet it fails to even come close to the quality of the prequel era stories. In fact, IMHO I think it's on par with the Marvel SW comics. I don't like the little 1 and 2 issue stories that lead nowhere. They don't make me care what happens. *oh gee, other short story about Luke doing something that's pointless, yay* Short stories are fun enough, but isn't that what Tales is for? If they're gonna have an entire series devoted to the Empire timeline...do something with it!

Seriously, why have a pointless story about an old clone? It doesn't add to anything. and it bums me out how they're still trying to cover up plot problems the EU created years ago. Suggesting stormtroopers aren't clones? I know this is a highly debated topic, but come on. *spoilerishy* Look at the clone troopers in EP3. Their helmets look almost exactly like stormtrooper helmets. Have we any doubt what Lucas is trying to say here?

Anyways, back to the comic. Why can't Empire be some longer series? Instead of giving us crap stories that no one cares about; they could at least do some of the novels in comic form, or come up with some comic only story.

But the post ROTJ EU is so crammed packed and confusing I wouldn't try it either.

Actually there's lots of potential for more stories in post-ROTJ era. There are years (15 ABY, 21 ABY) of which we know nothing. Others have maybe a few comics or books that feature a few characters mostly Luke and such. It could be interesting to see what Corran, Kyle and Kyp are up to post-JA stuff and pre-NJO. I haven't read anything from Empire cause it doesn't seem very interesting (although this one seemed pretty exciting) to me. They just show more Luke and Leia while we already have a hundred Marvel comics for in this period. They should show Mara Jade, Thrawn and other cool stuff about established characters to see what they're up to in this era or just make stories with characters previously unseen (BoShek grin )in the EU.

Well, after the next issue (a Boba Fett issue), we will be getting a larger story arc- the 5 part Jabiim followup "Sons".

In fact, at 5 issues in length, I believe it is actually the longest SW comic series since Jedi vs Sith (not counting Obsession).

The Republic comics on Malastare was six issues, no? Wasn't that after Jedi vs. Sith?

Nope- Emmissaries to Malastare #1 shipped Dec 1999; while Jedi vs Sith #1 shipped April 2001.

If I recall, the Malastare arc was supposed to be six but then they cut it down to four, with a two-part follow-up series featuring Mace. That little arc introduced Vos.

Uhm i don't think they were suggesting Stormtroopers aren't clones so much as they were stretching the truth again to get him on their side.

Also, it wasn't a pointless story. It introduced another chracter for the writers to play eith int he future. Might be interesting.

They just show more Luke and Leia while we already have a hundred Marvel comics for in this period.

Which actually only stretches six months wink

The Malastare series was still 6- though the last part didn't take palce on Malastare as it did follow Mace tracking down the source of the plot on Malastare.
