I have to say that Star City is a great place for the meetings. It does have a variety of eateries, and some great activities - I say that Bowling has to be on the agenda at some point! 
Obviously, distance-wise, it's great for me, and a few of the others, but it is easy for all to get to...right off the motorway; hardly any twists or turns to get stuck in. My main concern is that of people like Phill and Ross in Leicester, Verity in Nottingham, Dave in Worcester, and Tom in Lichfield/Bedford - all of whom have to make travelling distances of 30-40+ miles to get there.
While Star City is a great place to have as a base of operations, I feel it is unwise to exclude others. How do we combat this?
An idea I have is to do a "yo-yo schedule" of sorts. Perhaps one month it could be at Star City, then the next in, say Nottingham. The next would be back at Star City, and then the following month could be in Worcester. Then back to Star City the next month, and then on to Leicester, and so on...

so you see, this thread has been here for a while, nobody seems to be complaining about star city being the main meeting point, and it is a good idea to spread meets around, but nobody has outright complained about anything. our feb meet should be at star city, as it has places to sit down in a relaxed atmosphere and have this meeting that is likely to make and break this chapter (serious business thread). if anybody had any major complaints then this is the place to voice them, but in my eyes nobody has.
can somebody please remind me why i bother?

no. I was just saying in an ideal world the rotation would be good, however, it seems a lot less hassle to just meet at star city.

It wasn't that. It was because I couldn't for the life of me, think of a good suggestion that would be fair for all parties. I have been watching the thread. I just couldn't think of anything acceptable to mention...and yet, the solution I came up with was a no-brainer! Lord-Wiz posted:

Ok here's an idea, David could you find somewhere local to you, in Worcester where we could sit down, talk and perhaps indulge in a beverage afterward please, oh and don't go crawling around the pubs as you're still under 18, (no I'm not kidding).
Phill, Verity could you also have a look around Nottingham, Telford and Liecester please.
There used to be some nice places in Lichfield but they're probably wine bars or theme pubs now but when Tom's at home I'm sure he'll keep his eyes open.
Mark you and I are stuffed because no one in their right mind would want to come to either Walsall or Wednesbury but there a few places that could be used for a meet, details to follow.
Ok discounting the last two times we've got together, mainly because one was Dave's birthday and the other was Christmas dinner, also hosted by Lord and Lady Wiz, I'm sure the last meet was at Phill's and as Verity has already said she can't make the dates we've got for February, I'm guessing that Nottingham and Telford are both out of the window, that leaves Worcester, Star City, Lichfield or Walsall/Wednesbury. Lichfield will add another 20-30 minutes to Phill's journey, Worcester will add another hour to everyone's and Walsall/Wednesbury will add 15-20 minutes to Phill's journey. We also nee to take into account directions for David's father unless we go over to Worcester.
So to wrap this rant up, it's either Star City or Worcester, correct me if I'm wrong please.

Enough with the dramatics everyone.
Dave, your position is co-CR, i.e. you have the same responsibilities and rights as Mark, i.e. if Mark doesn't respond, then you make the decision, it's that simple.
As far as the February meet, Star City is a given for me, I was just assuming that was where it would take place.
Martin, what day works best for you? Do you work on a Saturday? If not, then I would say Saturday at 3pm in one of the food places would be fine.
Any arguments?

this i was unaware of. i was waiting for mark to respond out of deference to him being the CR, as when i have gone and made decisions etc in the past they have come back and bitten me on the ass, so i don't tend to step on anybody's toes anymore as it's simply not worth the hassle. now you've said that though i will stop trying to tread on eggshells when it comes to decisions etc, and i will simply plough on regardless.
EDIT 2: why do we always have to have a drama before anything gets done? i feel like i have to apologise for trying to get things moving.

25th looks good. but can we decide soon so that i have time to work on my parents.
and why did you have to go and be serious about the pub thing. there is a great one on the outskirts of Worcester called THE TALBOT. allows children in as well. its a nice old one that brews its own beer. anyhow i will get on the case. do you guys actually want it in worcester? or the north? or north east?
and can i once again ask about the pubs because worcester and the area is great for old pubs which will allow children and do great food.

David a future meeting should be held in Worcester although for the purposes of the February meet it'll be at Star City.
I am very serious about the pub thing due to your age my friend, I couldn't consider myself a responsible parent if I encouraged you to break the law, which I haven't and won't.
I've spoken to a member of staff at the Holiday Inn just off junction 7 of the M6, they're getting back to me with prices on conference facilities and room rates, at discounted cost of course.
