Yes, it is time for the Annual Dare Challenge! This is your chance to challenge your fanfic peers to write whatever the evil plot bunny voices are saying in your head.



How does it work?

Registration will be open February 8-14.

During that time, PM any fanfic mod with your Dare and the Era in which you would like to write. If you are willing to write in Any Era, please indicate that as well.

Dares will be sent out the week of February 15th.

Once you have received your Dare, you will have until March 14th to post your response.

Here are the RULES:

1) No more than 2,500 words (if you decide to make this into an epic, only the first post will be judged).
2) Make sure you indicate that your fic is a Dare Challenge response in the title thread.
3) Post the link to your story in this thread.
4) As always, the TOS applies. Our Rules & Regs for fanfic can be found here.

I want to sign up, but three times, I have gotten my dare from the exact same person. Is there any way of requesting that I get someone else this year? The person in question has a lovely muse that I just want to leave alone for once!

 

Totally in on this.... can I request that Ish writes my dare this year and save everyone the trouble? *laughs*

Ooh, I've read some fantastic AUs so the dare I send in will have twisty turns I think. But of course it will be mushy and funny in places.

I will send my dare in, but with trepidation. I think only once my dare has been written. Still, here I go.

I'm in. I doubt anyone will write the dare I come up with though. Mine never get written!

EDIT: Well, perhaps it will get written this year. I just came up with a dare that isn't so outrageous this time. I can't wait to send it in

 

Well, last year, I got a wonderful dare that had only one major problem: Only a 4th-grader would have been able to write the whole thing in 2500 words because it was a plot for a 50k-word story and 5th grade was when I learned about pacing. And like I said, I've had THREE of my dares come from that same person. So I am begging for a change or I really, truly, will not participate.

 

I've always wanted to do this, so I am totally in.

 

Oh, yay! It's finally here! I'm so in. Maybe this year my dare will even be written, too.

 

Umm...never done this before. I think that I'll have to throw my hat into the ring and give this a shot.

I'm contemplating multi-lingual parodies of obscure French satire set in 9000 BBY involving a duck...

 

Well, I sent mine in. Perhaps the third time is the charm, and whomever gets this dare will actually write it. It's easy enough. One thing for sure, this one will not win the most outrageous dare award.

 

I'll join in! Will think of an interesting dare - or probably a dull one as 'outrageous' isn't my style, boring soul that I am....

 

I need more inspiration, and there're a few really interesting ideas bouncing around in my head. Count me in. PM is on the way...

 

I really shouldn't, really really shouldn't...but I'm a terrible sucker for the Dare Challenge. Count me in, time to think of something good.
