Colum, GA A good local chairty opprotunity for FCF

Hey. I have been talking to one of our members, Shopgirl, who is a speech therapist at South Columbus Schools. With the end of the school year approaching, the planning has begun for next school year.

Shopgirls students are in need of some items for their therapy sessions. These are items that are not included in the school budgets.

Shopgirl is going to provide me a list of items needed, things like color crayons, pencil boxes, etc and I will bring this up for a vote at our next meeting. Maybe we can spend the summer gathering donations for Shopgirl's speech therapy kids.

I think this will be rewarding for us, since all the items will go to local kids, who are really the poorest of the poor children in the public school system.

Please give me your thoughts on this, either here or in person. This can be an unoffical event, if there is no majority in the group. I will be glad to organize and collect up the donations.

Plastic Bin or Box for each child
Blunt Sissors


She has 50 children

 

Sounds like a good way to give back to our community. She works with kids that have little to nothing and could use all the free stuff she can get to give to them.

 

in conjunction with my Creative Memories business, I will be doing a Charity Crop for ShopGirl's students in June.

I will post out the day here.

Yes, I just set it w/ buffy. I have one on June 11th 10 am to 6 PM at my house. There are only 8 spots and some are taken (4 I think) so if you like we can set a seperate FCFN date we can. I am going to bring it up at the meeting to get it on the calander.

For those interested but not wanting to scrapbook, feel free to bring some stuff with you to our next meeting on June 12th at Books-A-Million on Macon Rd at 3pm. You can find lots of this stuff at the local Dollar Stores. If your not a shopper but want to contribute, funds will be welcome and some of us girls will be glad to shop for you.

 

We can discuss a scrapbook event at the meeting.

I will be glad to do one if there is interest.
