Calypso's Raider

My name is Dario Bastion, and I've been called many things throughout the course of my life, most of them too inappropriate to speak of now. I'm the captain of a pirate ship called Calypso's Raider, and no, not the pirate ship you normally hear about that travels on water. You see, rather than traveling among fish, my ship travels among the stars. The endless vacuum of outer space is the Raider's true home, and it's where most of me and my crew's time is spent.

We're what you call space pirates. We're similar to the traditional pirates you hear about in books and movies, only without the stench, overgrown beards, lack of intelligence, and oldschool weaponry. We hop from planet to planet, stealing, plundering, raiding, backstabbing, anything that gets us money, we do. And we have fun while we're doing it, because after all, it's a very lucrative business.

And the best part? We're recruiting.

Planets

[blockquote]*Hera - The most popular and technologically advanced planet in the galaxy, Hera is the central hub for activity in the galaxy with skyscrapers stretching into the clouds above and floating ships zooming along predetermined routes at breathtaking speeds. The law is enforced by indestructable and immensely intelligent cyborgs, while the people are very diverse in race and ideals.

*Triton - A predominantly aquatic planet with myriad underwater cities and establishments throughout, Triton is the main oceanic tourist attraction in the galaxy, inhabiting a prodigious amount of diverse aquatic life. The cities are built within pressure proof domes of a solid yet transparent material, with long spherical tubes linking them together. The people that reside here wear small amounts of clothing and have a natural affinity to water, thus making them very physically fit with broad lung capacities.

*Camalus - Camalus is a planet with no surface whose populace resides on beautiful massive cities built in the sky. The people of this planet wear clothing normally associated with mythological gods, and travel in zeppelins or on the backs of winged steeds for transportation. They are a wise and noble people who live in peace and harmony.

*Artemis - The planet of Artemis is comprised mostly of forests, jungles, and grasslands, and is widely regarded as the most beautiful planet in the galaxy. Despite this, however, only approximately one fourth of it is populated by humans due to the widespread presence of volatile wildlife. This makes it an ideal location for courageous hunters looking for challenging game.

*Vulcan - Vulcan is a planet that has been host to decades of war, violence, and death. It mostly consists of barren wastelands and volcanoes with rivers of hot lava and blood. The world is currently in a state of anarchy, yet there are those who say that Hera has plans to bring peace to Vulcan.

*Mithras - A planet of endless sandy deserts and sandstorms, Mithras cannot be populated by humans due to its lack of precipitation. However, there have been recent findings of valuable treasures underground and in caves, making it a popular hotspot among treasure hunters.

*Kronos - Kronos, also known as Sinner's Paradise, is a planet that rests in an eternal night. However, the lack of a sun is more than made up for by an abundance of artificial ligh

*Name: Jayson Bryce

*Nickname: Slinger

*Gender: Male

*Age: 27

*Homeworld: Vulcan

*Appearance: think Cpt. Mal

*Personality: Cocky, show off. Finds humor in even the worst situations, doesn't like to fight despite his profession.

*Backstory:

Born on the war torn Vulcan, Bryce's father was constantly off to war, leaving the young boy to protect their land and family. Bryce was naturally proficient with a weapon, and practiced nearly everyday hoping he would never have to use one. Unfortunately, when he was just nine, a looter found his way onto the family farm, and found himself in a firefight with the young Jayson, resulting in a quick trip to the next life.
When Bryce was twelve his mother scrapped up enough money to send him off to a better life, aways from the mindless violence and crime on Vulcan. Unluckily, Bryce found himself on the planet Kronos rather than his original destination of Camalus. He quickly learned to fend for himself and trust no one. By the age of Sixteen Bryce was both a proficient pickpocket and gunslinger. Be became little more than a simple con-artist and street hustler, spending most of the money he gained in the casinos, where he learned the tricks to various card games, and more importantly, how to cheat at them. He worked briefly as a prize fighter in underground duels and held an even shorter stint as a Bounty Hunter on the surface.
Eventually, however, his reputation as a con-artist caught up with him, and he was black listed from many of the smaller casinos and found himself on a wanted list, and decided that life on Kronos was getting a bit too hazardous to be a full-time residence. He returned to Vulcan when he was twenty-four, to find a ravaged planet of anarchy and murder. With no family to speak of, and means to earn money limited, Jayson eventually decided he was tired of the day to day life of Vulcan, and joined the crew of the pirate ship Calypso's Raider as a gun hand and scout, where he could put his cons, hustles, and nimble fingers to better work.

*Miscellaneous: Jayson has many contacts on the planets Vulcan and Kronos, which makes it easy for him to get information for the ship (such as shipping routes and cargo lists)

*Appearance: Ms. Annabel Jones

*Personality: Annabel is a calm, cool woman - she thinks clearly under pressure and can take control of any situation. She won't back down.

*Backstory: Annabel is the typical black sheep story: sent off to boarding school, this privileged heiress rebelled in any way possible. After three expulsions, her father didn't know what to do. Luckily, though, her Uncle did - Annabel was trained, under his guidance, in the ways of long range combat. She learned discipline, respect, and patience under his tutelage. At 18 she was given a position in a crack sniper team thanks to her family's influence and uncle's training. Eventually, though, she tired of simple military life. It was at age 20 she became a mercenary, along with a team of five men. They quickly learned that she did not enjoy their petty advances - the hard way. After five years of solid merc work, she retired, and is en route to her family home on Artemis.

*Miscellaneous: Annabel is one of the best shots in the galaxy. She uses a heavily customized sniper rifle. Annabel also enjoys the dubious title of femme fatale.

*Appearance: Zeph Skybreaker

*Personality: Zeph is a jaded individual. There are few planets he hasn't been to, and the galaxy holds little mystery or wonder for him. He's an extremely talented and highly experienced pilot--you name a class of starship, Zeph has likely flown it. If he hasn't, well, he probably could. Unless it's some sort of alien ship that requires three arms to operate, or something.

He knows he's good, and he has no problems with pointing this out. He's developed a reputation for performing dangerous, risky maneuvers that most pilots would never dream of doing, not even when they're by themselves. Fortunately, Zeph hasn't met a maneuver that he couldn't pull off...yet.

*Backstory: There isn't much about Zeph's life that's worth telling. He was born on Camalus, and it was there, living amidst the clouds, that he became interested in piloting. He saw little profit in his chosen line of work on his homeworld, since everyone on Camalus flew, so he headed offworld to ply his trade and bounced from ship to ship over the next decade. He usually stuck around for just a few months, because he eventually grew bored of flying the same ship and decided it was time for a change. It doesn't much matter to him what sort of craft he flies, so long as it's something new and interesting...and it probably doesn't get much more interesting than flying a pirate ship.

*Miscellaneous: Zeph suffers from aquaphobia. The further away he is from water, the better.

*Backstory: Tristan Andrews III sounds noble, but he isn?t. Just your average geek who knows his technology. He lived on Camalus up till he was eighteen then ?got the hell out of there.? Reasons? He was tired of Home and Family. He proceeded to travel around on Hera, Triton, & Vulcan thanks to his technical skills coming in handy. It earned him some almost free flights. Tristan quickly came to the conclusion that to earn something, you had to just take it. Life was too hard to do it the right way. But since he was no fighter he waited for helpers and quickly found it when he discovered the Calypso's Raider was recruiting.

*Miscellaneous: Has family on Camalus who would be willing to give refuge to him or friends of his no matter what despite Tristan?s feelings toward them and can hack into just about anything if given a little time, can be used as a good distraction if needed as he has some acting lessons and doesn?t have the look of a ?space pirate?

Finally when she was sixteen, her parents had saved the money and paid for the shuttle to Artemis, seeing that the land was fertile and the cheapest to move to.

The three fled from the ?Paradise? world to began their lives anew. As the craft entered into the atmosphere, several wild animals and creatures were frightened by the sudden roar of the ship and attacked it. Calypso's Raider

"Dammit, Dorothy, I told you to not change the station, you hag!" Dario barked at his current medic, an old woman who was currently finding pleasure in irritating the captain of the ship by changing radio stations at random intervals.

"Oh, hah, I'm sorry, Captain," she replied innocently, her voice scratchy as a result of forty years of smoking. "My hearing just isn't what it used to be, you know." She changed it back.

"Jesus, woman," Dario sighed, leaning back in his co-pilot's chair while playing a handheld gaming device. He subconsciously started to sing along to the radio, which was being played all throughout the ship. "Our hopes and expectaaa-a-a-aaations. Black holes and revelaaa-"

"Captain!" The cabin door burst open, causing Dario to drop his game and curse aloud.

"Holy ****, you idiot!"

"Sorry, sir, but... damn minicroc done bit my finger off."

Dario looked at the large black man's hand, which was wrapped tightly in his shirt that was leaking blood. He immediately jumped out of his chair. "Crap, Gerald, do not get blood on my floor!" He cupped the man's hand in his own and brought him over to Dorothy's table. "Fix him up, will you?"

Dorothy looked up from her book. "Who?"

"You've got to be kidding me."

"Me, bitch!" Gerald shouted angrily.

"Alright, alright, geez." Dorothy closed her book and set it aside, and unwrapped Gerald's hand. Dario, satisfied with the situation, went back to his seat and picked his game up off the floor.

Two hours later

"Okay, crew," Dario's voice rang over the PA system installed in the Raider so that every crewmember could hear what he had to say. "First off, I want everyone to give Gerald a big round of applause for being the biggest idiot I've ever met in my life." From the cockpit, Dario could hear raucous applause and whistles as he clapped his hands in front of the microphone repeatedly. "Second, Dorothy's five hundredth birthday is coming up soon, and I want you all to get her a nice gift." He heard a book come flying in his direction, and ducked just in time to miss it as it landed with a thud on the ground next to him. "Third, our next destination is Camalus. I've come in contact with a very rich gentleman who is in need of our assistance, so we're naturally going to oblige him. We should be there within the next few hours, so get in your last minute naps, bandage up any severed fingers you may have, put the dentures back in, and be ready for dock. Later."

Annabel Jones
In the Brig

For a prison, it was damn comfortable. The cot wasn't too lumpy and smelled as though it had been given fresh sheets immediately before the cell's current occupant had begun to occupy it.

Ms. Annabel Jones stretched luxuriously, waking up her tired limbs. Life in a cell was dreary, never mind how comfortable the cell was, and Ms. Jones did not enjoy the dreary. At least the Captain's regular updates were entertaining. They'd spoken, once, the kind of conversation involving lots of cursing and the occasional gunshot. It had been fun.

But now...nothing.

A sentry stood at the doorway to the brig, lost in his own thoughts. Annabel leaned into the bars of the cell, reaching out with her arms and snapping her fingers. The young man looked up, surprised.

"Hey there, big guy," she said, her voice the textbook definition of sultry, "if you bring the captain down here, I'll make it worth your while..."

The guard nearly tripped over his own feet running to fetch the ship's captain.

Chandler sat in his seat on the bridge of his ship the Star Eagle looking out of the view port the Camalus system stretching out before him. The planet before him was quite a site to see, a swirling sphere of clouds and gases with a sprinkling of silver dots over its surface where the citizens lived in there airborne cities. "Keep the guns ready, I'm expecting several ships to come in soon and I want to catch them off guard." he said to his crew. "When the first one comes in I want you to blast its engines, board it and take all you can." he added. He then stood up and went to the stellar charts he had displayed on a screen before him. He was expecting a small band of ships to be pulling in to the northern part of the planets surface. "We're going to get a good haul today." he said more to himself than to his crew.

Aboard the Calypso's Raider

"Okay, crew first off, I want everyone to give Gerald a big round of applause for being the biggest idiot I've ever met in my life."

Yamato smirked and gave an indulgent double clap before returning to his work

"Second, Dorothy's five hundredth birthday is coming up soon, and I want you all to get her a nice gift."

"Woman's going to kill him one day..." He muttered to himself.

Later."

Yamato nodded and ran the cloth over his blade again, as he looked down at his sword his red eyes reflected back at him. He had his black bandana pulled down tightly over his eyebrows. His crimson eyes ran the length of the blade, his pride and joy. An Odachi (Long sword) katana. In old Japanese culture it had been a very difficult sword to wield because of its length and weight. To Yamato however, his long sword was weightless.

?Oni ken?.. Demon blade of the stars?.? He whispered to himself.

The thought brought an unconscious smile to Yamato?s face. He rarely smiled in front of other people. He doubted that the captain had even seen him so much as smirk in his full month of being a crew member here.

Yamato stood and held the blade out in front of him. The hilt was half a hand span shy of being the length from his fingertips to his elbow. The blade itself was 4 ½ feet long. The hilt was a black cloth cross-weave. He flicked the blade in a tight circle beside him and smoothly re-sheathed it. Being so large, Yamato had to hand carry his Oni ken. Most of the time he traveled with it in his left hand, blade curve towards the skies.

Yamato walked to the bridge and leaned in the doorway. While on board the ship he left his jacket in his quarters. He crossed his arms and tucked his sword vertically into his right shoulder as he looked over at the captain who had put the com down moments before.

The crimson eyed man spoke in a low dull tone, as he always did.

?Any specific plan on how we are to? help?. Said wealthy person??

Yamato thoroughly enjoyed fighting. He didn?t seek fights, but he was normally the last one standing when it was over. For the past month he had accompanied the captain as somewhat of a bodyguard whenever they left the ship. It was now common to see ?Demon Blades? accompanying Captain Dario when on different worlds. Dario was the reason he had joined the crew. The man may be strangely sarcastic and crass, but he also had an inner sense of honor that Yamato had seen. He was a good man at heart. A sarcastic man with a good soul. That was why Yamato stood to protect him. It didn?t matter that Dario had chosen the profession of stealing from people. Most of the people they stole from could definitely afford to lose twice of what was taken anyway.

Yamato stood in the doorway and waited for the Captains response.

Calypso's Raider; en route to Camalus

"How's the finger?"

"What finger?"

"Sorry I asked." Through his peripheral vision, Dario noticed that Yamato, one of the few people on the Raider that he trusted, was standing in the doorway of the capacious cockpit.

"Any specific plan on how we are to... help... said wealthy person?"

The man's tone was low and dull, as it always was. "We'll find out when we get there. All I know is that it involves the guy's daughter," Dario replied as he watched Dorothy try and mend Gerald's severed finger. Blood was all over the medical table. "Having said that, it'll likely involve guns, explosions, assassins, and hormones."

"Captain!" One of the guards of the Raider's brig stumbled into the cabin, out of breath.

"Speaking of hormones," Dario turned around to face the young man, who'd probably just hit his twenties.

"The lady woman you arrested captured has asked requested your appearance presence."

Dario sighed. "Do you honestly have to say everything twice?"

"I try attempt not to. It's a nasty habit trait."

"Fine. What lady woman are you talking about?"

"Uh... the lady woman, sir."

Dario immediately thought of his nose. "Got it. Yamato, pleasure talking to you. Guard... go take a shower."

"With pleasure, sir."

Dario exited the cabin in a brisk walk and made his way down to his ship's brig, passing the dining hall where a very large crewmember was feasting on meat of all different shapes and sizes.

"Enjoying yourself, Kanner?"

"Urf bethcha," the fat man waved.

"I can hardly notice."

Dario rounded the corner, entered a passcode in the wall, and walked through the newly opened doorway. There was a hallway of cells, and he knew exactly where he'd put Miss Jones.

"There you are," he said, ruffling his spiked blond hair. "Fist feeling any better?"

Anna was just pulling on her boots as she heard the door open. She smiled to herself. About time, too, she thought, I was beginning to think you'd forgotten.

"There you are," he said, ruffling his spiked blond hair. "Fist feeling any better?"

Anna smiled coyly, sliding into her boots, making sure she did them up slowly. "I hope the swelling's gone down, dear. We wouldn't want the brave captain walking around with a broken nose, now, would we?"

Before he could respond, she stepped up to the bars, adopting her best femme fatale pose: the hip out a bit, a light smile on her face. It had taken a lot of time in front of a mirror to get this good. A lot of time.

"I was thinking we could settle our differences...and you could let me out of this cage."

Zeph Skybreaker
Cockpit, Calypso's Raider

The Raider sailed through the great vasty nothing as smoothly as she'd probably ever done so. Which, admittedly, still probably wasn't very smooth; Calypso's Raider had the grace of a cow, and could probably be outflown by a space station in the hands of someone who didn't know what they were doing.

Fortunately, she was in the hands of a man who knew what he was doing better than most did. Well, one of them, anyway. In his other hand was a very large cup of what was probably the worst coffee in human history, and Zeph Skybreaker was chugging it down like it was water and he'd been marooned in the deserts of Mithras for a month.

An alert beeped quietly, and Zeph's sky blue eyes narrowed in annoyance. He glanced down at the controls to see what the problem was, and rolled his eyes when he realized it was the Raider's computer suggesting a minor change in course. Apparently there was an ion storm a few AUs ahead; it was a class six, on the lower end of the severity scale.

"A little wind never hurt anyone," the Camalus-born pilot muttered. He depressed the orange button with the pinky of his flying hand, his other four fingers maintaining a firm grip on the controls, and nodded in satisfaction when the beeping stopped. What did computers know about flying, anyway?

Zeph finally finished his coffee, and with a satisfied sigh, he tossed the tall paper cup over his shoulder to land somewhere on the floor behind him. He didn't have time to turn and look for the garbage bin, he had a big, bad, class six ion storm to avoid.

"I was thinking we could settle our differences...and you could let me out of this cage."

"Oh, I'll take that thought into deep consideration, Miss," Dario commented slyly. "I was thinking, though," he leaned back on the vacant cage next to Annabel's, "how much I like money. Don't you, Bel? Do you mind if I call you Bel? Bel," he stood forth from the cage and pulled a small box out of the interior pocket of his vest, "you strike me as a woman who desires wealth. Otherwise, why would you do what you do?" He pulled a cigarette out of the box and held it up to the graceful assassin. "Having said that, I have a proposition for you."

He listened to Dario as he explained what was going to happen.

Sounds about right for our normal setting...

Yamato retreated from the cockpit and made his way back to his cabin. He looked himself in the mirror, staring himself in the eyes for a while. Some days he wondered why he had been given his strange eyes. But then he tossed aside his thoughts, realizing that they were both a blessing and a curse. Intimidation was common among people who looked at them. It worked in his favor when he didn't feel the need to draw his sword.

Yamato sat on his bed and swung his legs over. He placed his Oni Ken next to him on the bed and crossed his arms.

Thinking of the days and assignments to come, Yamato closed his eyes and caught a blissful nap before they docked.

Bryce's Quarters

Bryce walked into his dimly lit and tightly cramped sleeping quarters. He had a private room, only because if a gunslinger asks for privacy you tend to grant it to him. He set down his steaming cup of coffee on a small night stand, and lit a cigarette, taking a few long drags off of it.

He'd been on the crew for a while now, and he'd done his job well thus far. He was the "muscle" when it came to gun fights, and while he may not look like much, he could pull his weight. He tapped a small button underneath of the nightstand, and watched his bed flip up like a treasure chest opening, but instead of being filled with valuables, it was more like a small armory. Guns of all types and sizes were strapped to the bottom of the bed and in the space underneath of it.

Reaching with in, Bryce removed his worn leather gun belt and strapped it around his waist, securing the holster to his thigh. He went about his pre-work routine of selecting weapons for the job ahead, and placing them in various places, both concealed and not, on his person and stitched into his coat. He was never un-prepared nor underarmed.

Eventually, laden with armaments, he closed the bed/locker, and grabbed his coffee making his way towards the bridge.

Annabel Jones

Sneaky man.

Annabel smiled cooly. "You'd be correct."

Annabel Jones had been a mercenary for quite some time, now. She'd been coming home to the relaxing family business of lounging about in great wealth and splendor when, of all the ships in the galaxy to attack, this fool had attacked hers. That was this man's first mistake. The second had been to focus on the burlier male passengers, taking care of them first. That gave her time to find her rifle.

After giving the pirates a taste of their own medicine (sadly, she hadn't hurt any of them - at least they were that smart) with a few well-placed shots, the captain had made his third mistake, and that was getting too close during the flank. Instead of keeping her at gunpoint, he had to be a bigshot.

"That rifle all you got, babe?" he'd asked.

"Yes," said Annabel.

After that he decided to step too close, and she punched him square in the nose.

Of course, that had been a while ago...this cell wasn't looking too comfortable anymore, and maybe he was willing to deal with her.

She reached through the bars for the cigarette, carefully, cautiously.

After Annabel took the cigarette Dario had offered her, he stuffed the box back into his vest without getting his own, and pulled out a lighter. Clicking it open, he lit the woman's cigarette and then clicked it closed, returning it to his pocket.

"Now, it seems to me that my ship here is in need of a woman like you," he said. "Sexy," he eyed her up and down, "seductive, and most importantly, deadly. You could provide quite a bit of influence with many of my customers, sleazy as they are. And, of course... you would be a very rich woman. All you'd need to do is sail with us, go with the flow.

"So what do you say? Interested?"

IC as Yana Ilim

Yana Ilim stood still and silent at one of the few port side windows that were thick enough to keep the vaccum of space from pulling everything out. She quietly brought her hands behind her and clasped them together as she watched the stars millions of miles away.

"Okay, crew, first off, I want everyone to give Gerald a big round of applause for being the biggest idiot I've ever met in my life. Second, Dorothy's five hundredth birthday is coming up soon, and I want you all to get her a nice gift. Third, our next destination is Camalus. I've come in contact with a very rich gentleman who is in need of our assistance, so we're naturally going to oblige him. We should be there within the next few hours, so get in your last minute naps, bandage up any severed fingers you may have, put the dentures back in, and be ready for dock. Later."

The woman pretty much ignore the first two statements and mentally nodded at the third one. So this was it. Her first job while on the crew of Calypso's Raider. It was going to be interesting indeed, she mused, still gazing out of the viewer. What was it going to be like, this new job she took on? She would be able to make it and not get kicked off?

Yana let her hands loose and gathered her silk black hair, putting it all into a high bun that would keep the long strands from falling in her face while she work. Her brown eyes shifted down at the ground and quietly, she took in a breath. It was now and never, she thought and pulled herself away from the oddly relaxing view and just as silently as ever, made her way down the hall, scanning each doorway for her bed. She knew she was sharing her room with someone, but due to difference in schedules and times, she still didn't really know who her room mate was. Maybe now she would finally be able to see, but she wasn't going to hold her breath.

Finally coming to it, she entered and opened the trunk that belonged to her. There was not much in it, especially no personal items. Just clothes and weapons. Yana pulled off the shirt and pants she was wearing and took out the black jumpsuit, donning it. She zipped it up in the front and then wrapped a black belt about her waist that had two holsters on either hip. Reaching into the trunk yet again, she brought her weapons out. Two pistols went into the holsters and the rile was slung over her shoulder.

The woman seated herself on her bed and slid her feet into her black boots, zipping those up as well. She stood quietly and looked about herself. Well...there was nothing more to take. Except that. Yana reached over to the very small, almost makeshift stand and wrapped her hand about something, bringing it to her. She opened her hand and looked down at the item. A necklace with a metal shaped charm. She pulled it over her head and tucked it into her jumpsuit. She would never leave the ship without that charm.

I guess...I'm ready then.

Tristan Andrew III IC:
Location ~Living Quarters

Tristan rubbed his eyes due to lack of sleep from the previous night. Just couldn't get any. He had been left with the option of just reading a technical book of his, which wasn't much fun at all. Now however, he had gotten bored of it and set the reading material aside and fixed his glasses. The intercom beeped and he looked up. What did the Captain want at this time?

"Okay, crew, first off, I want everyone to give Gerald a big round of applause for being the biggest idiot I've ever met in my life.

Tristan chuckled a little to himself. That was the Captain and that was Gerald from what Tristan had seen of him already the past two months that he'd been part of the crew.

Second, Dorothy's five hundredth birthday is coming up soon, and I want you all to get her a nice gift.

Tristan laughed at this. Dorothy was not going to be pleased at that remark and by the sounds of it over the intercom, she wasn't. He'd bet three nanochips that the Captain of the crew was going to have some kind of bruise when he saw him next.

Later."

Tristan was quiet for the rest of the announcement. Not exactly enjoyed by it.

Camalus? Camalus! Why do we have to go there!?

With renewed rubbing of the eyes at a frustrated pace, his mind whirled. Ok. So he just wouldn't leave the ship, that's all. Yeah, he'd request to stay on...wait, he was the 'geek' of the crew...of course he'd stay on! Why was he worried? Yeah, just gotta calm down...

The door opened. He looked up to see a woman walk in, not notice him, and begin to get ready while being oblivious to his presence in the room. When she actually started getting dresssed (Ah! What is she doing!?) he quickly turned away till he figured she was finished. The woman was also by the bed that he had never seen anyone by so far...so now he knew his room mate. A girl!? Yeah, well, that's nothing compared to Camalus...Still...

He cleared his throat somewhat nervously, "Uh...heh..hi there? You in this room too then?"

Annabel smiled.

"All right, Captain...but I have two conditions." She took a drag off the smoke, exhaling slowly. "First, I get my own private quarters furnished with the belongings you took from me. That means my luggage and especially my rifle."

The blond man said nothing, so she continued. "Second, Captain, you let me be me. Do we have a deal?"

Oh, ultimatums. He liked her even more.

"Oh, I have no problem letting you be you," Dario said in the same charming fashion that had made him notorious among the stars. "But I have a small condition of my own. You stop calling me Captain and start calling me Dario. I just don't think you screaming 'Captain' repeatedly will turn me on as much." He winked.
