As soon as you said it, I had this picture in my head of a guy with a really bad mullet walking along a beach singing a ballad like that, pining for a girl in a ra-ra skirt and I just connected the two. God know's why. I was probably thinking of Rick Astley or someone equally tragic.

John Lennon was a wonderful guy who made extroadinarily personal music and I'm sorry for mixing him up. My memory isn't what it once was.
