Chewbacca is not DEAD!

I have been into the NJO from the beginning and I refuse to believe Chewie is dead. I'm half-way through Rebirth and it talked about Sernpidal and Jaina mentioning silently to herself "somewhere under that rubble is Chewie..." Now I know I'm grasping at straws here but, what if, just what if, the Vong captured Chewie's body in a gesture of respect for the heroic and honorable way he was supposedly killed. They do use slaves for their war campaign. I know I haven't finished the book but didn't it say that a world ship was being grown on the planet or something to that affect? If I am mistaken please forgive me.

I SENSE MUCH ANGER IN YOU. (sorry that was too hard to resist) Anyway I guess you get attached to characters and with as many movies as I've seen and books I've read you get used to the plot twists and sometimes you hope somehow things will turn around in the end. It just isn't SW to me without Chewbacca.

 

Well, then I guess Episode I, most of the X-Wing, the Tales books, the whole prequel era before The Hutt Gambit isn't Star Wars either, huh ? (No, no, the Paradise Snare is NO Star Wars book, even if it's part of the Han Solo trilogy, where we meet Chewie for the first time...)

Newspaper articles have been written declaring Chewie dead. If it were all some joke, Del Rey would have cut back on the whole "New, more dangerous GFFA" marketing line.

 

Even if Chewie survived that moon crashing on top of him he would have starved to death by now.......
