Could the U.S. become a Dictatorship?

    Both Germany and The Republic are nice examples how a goverment turns into a dictatorship

    The U.S. could easily become a dictatorship . . . not with GWB. Look back when FDR was president, he was in office for 4 terms. FDR had so much power, he could have easily taken control of this nation with little dispute. The people loved him. That's why all these emergency powers granted to the presidents should be monitored more closely.

    he was in office for 4 terms. FDR had so much power, he could have easily taken control of this nation with little dispute.

    He was elected for four, but served only a couple months of his fourth term. Also, he had his share of Republican opposition. Had D-Day been a disaster instead of a victory, things might have been different in the 1944 election.
