Lucas -- The Emperor never got cloned. Dark Empire is nonsense. What actually happened is the Emperor survived as a ball of energy that reconstituted itself into material form on a hidden planet in the Deep Core without the need for clone bodies.

No, his entire living body was transported into the Deep Core by the same wormhole that sent the Glove of Darth Vader to his true heir.

We may have mocked GODV all these years, but it has held the truth all along. ^:)^

    Do you not guess?

Do you not perceive it for the test of faith it is?

Can God create a film he can't watch?

Yes he can. He did when he created the Holiday Special.

I wonder if they'll make a Chewie movie? I hope not, since he's the epitome of a side kick characters... but who knows. When the cash cows gets going, it can be difficult to stop milking her.

A question for some new discussion..

You are in charge with coming up with the general story for the Sequel Trilogy. Disney wants to know who the villains of the Sequel Trilogy will be, and they have only 3 requirements:

    1. the villain(s) can not be the Sith or the Empire (they don't want it to be a repeat of the PT or OT)
    2. the villain(s) must already exist in Star Wars, movies and/or EU (it has to have some grounding in Star Wars)
    3. the villain(s) can't make the movies not feel like the other Star Wars movies (this isn't just another sci-fi/fantasy franchise, this is Star Wars)

Who would you pick for the villains?

    I'd pick either
    * the Rakata return to invade the galaxy
    * Sorcerers of Rhand come to the galaxy to destroy instead of control
    * Hutt/Mandalorian alliance to undermine the government/Jedi and take-over
    * the NewRepublic/GalacticAlliance (but they're not evil, just the main antagonists)
    * the Jedi (but they're not evil, just the main antagonists)

    How about you?

Chances are that it will be the Sith (I'm still a big fan of Darth Plagueis returning). But just taking it as a given is kind of lazy thinking.
If it turns out to not be the Sith (or the Empire)... and it is at least somewhat predictable by at least being in previous movies/EU... who/what could it be?
I think that possibility makes this an interesting thought experiment.

I have the film board minimised so I no longer have to see the ridiculous thread titles, and then get sucked in by morbid curiosity. I did always regret it.

Don't know if this has been posted yet. Kasdan had this to say about his script for one of the spin-off films, and whether or not he'll use the EU.

“I’m trying to start fresh. There are certain pleasures that we think the saga can bring to people that they’ve been missing, and we’re hoping to bring them that, and at the same time, have them feel that it’s all new.”

He does go on to say that there is a possibility he might use the EU to find some inspiration.

He should, and he better. At least we are getting fresh minds in on Star Wars. That has not been the case in a long time.

I've returned to my default state of forgetting other forums exist, and will remain as such until the next time some mouth-breather complains about the notion of gay ST characters.

I don't, I have asthma and I've always felt uncomfortable breathing through my nose.

But it's cool, I know that's not what it refers to.
