JCC Do you have any phobias?

Snakes -- big time, seriously. I can't even look at pictures*. When we were kids, my cousin would chase me with issues of Nation Geographic. (Cute snakes in cartoons are cool -- like in Disney's version of Robin Hood)

(I'm not a big fan of heights, but it's not heights exactly. I love rollercoasters, for example. It's more like high, unsteady places. Or if I'm up really close to the ceiling in a big building. (For example, I HATE going up to the choir loft in churches). But bridges -- I love the view. I'm weird that way. So only some heights bother me.




*Don't even think about posting one. Please, I'm serious -- it's that severe. If I want to read an article about snakes online, I have to turn off images in my browser.

Exactly.

My queasiness at swimming in open water is a direct result of having seen Jaws when I was 7 or 8. So not so much a phobia as much as effective movie making.

This looks like my dream vacation.

 

Ooh pretty. I probably wouldn't do that myself (I'm not afraid of heights persay, but I have balance issues that would probably make balancing on a small beam hundreds or thousands of miles above the earth a bad idea), but it's still pretty.

 

No phobias, as far as I know.

 

Heights - i can get vertigo on the escalators on the London Tube system. (Those who have been on one know what I mean. They can be very steep and long).
Also stinging insects like wasps but only if they are flying close around me or are inside. Same goes for spiders - OK if they are outside but if they come inside they get whacked.

Hospitals. Terrified of ever having to go into Hospital.
Doctor's surgery I get a little worried but woe is me if I ever have to go into hospital.

 

I have one, but it's not one of the listed ones. I'm not even sure it's ever been named; I've never seen it in any list of phobias. I've had it as long as I can remember. No, I'm not about to tell what it is - I've never even told my friends that I have it - and the pictures above show why.

 

Yeah, not exactly our finest hour, guys.
