We really just need people to start making new topics in the Star Wars related forums.

Just FYI, I uploaded some temporary board themes. RMCOY is going to have a completely new and uber-cool scheme uploaded sometime in the near future.

Just a quick question - were you actually 'hacked', or did someone's password get stolen (or was left somewhere where anyone could see) ?

What forum type were you using ?

Just interested in forum security, thats all.

    1. I wasn't around during the hacking, but I don't think it was a case of stolen password, you'd have to ask james.

    2. Our software was an IGNboard clone.

James said that it appears as if the database was deleted by the host, and the host has no reason to delete it. Therefore, it seems most likely that someone hacked it. I know pretty much nothing about that part of the tech side, so I really don't know too many details.

    Updates:

-New main theme is being worked on, partly completed by James right now
    -New banner coming soon
    -New smilies uploaded yesterday morning
    -Several new forums added

Well, I'm sorry to hear that :( I suppose some technical glitch could have caused it, but you are right it seems unlikely.

Well, lesson learned about making a back-up I suppose!

Hope your new forums work out :)

I really hate to have to do this, but is out of my hands. Datacenter/Network has sent me an email stating the following:

    http://aesop.thrillinghill.com/boards/viewtopic.php?t=499

"The URL(S) stated above is in violation by way of unauthorized use of
images from unreleased DVDs that belong to LucasFilms Ltd. Please remove
this thread from the forum and all related images from the server."

You will need to remove everything related to it right away, you should still be able to log in with your username/password fine, the new link is aesop54321.thrillinghill.com for the time being, you have 24 hours to delete the images/thread or we will have to delete the whole site to get rid of it.

Really hate to do this, not sure how they found out about it, either Lucas Arts has people on the lookout for these things, or someone just decided to report it, who knows, point is the datacenter/network has control over us in situations like this, so we can only try and get it fixed asap.

Extremely sorry, but hope you understand,

    Stan ******

Let me know if you have any questions about it, either email me at ****@thrillinghill.com or AIM **********

By the time Tom got the email, neither of us could access the site, the temp site, or the ftp.

Another rough bump in the road for a great site. I am sure the crew will get everything straightened out. And who thought we were that big of a site.

Also just wanted to let all the Mafia fans know, that we had a good, yet small game going. So if you want to play, after everything is straightened out, come on over.

And if you dont want to play Mafia, come over anyway. It is great place, and there is no flaming, everyone is just like fonzie.

It's sad to see it go. It was a great site, and a great community. Hopefully you'll be able to set up something else down the road. I'll miss it there! :(

I was without a home 'Net access for several weeks, and I come back to this. Whatever happened, it must've been big! [face_worried]

Well, we still have this forum...

If you guys want to talk to me, I'm happy to recieve PMs. I tend to post within the Amphitheatre, SW and Film Music, and I occasionally post in the Senate as well. Who knows--you might bump into me... :)

What happened to E3.Net? Did it get shut down again; I tried clicking on the link for it in PLJ's profile, and I came up with a "Page Cannot Be Displayed."
