Welcome readers, old and new to my fics. I decided having one of these would be useful when it came to alerting my readers of important news and dates and other such stuff.

So why have I waited all this time to do something like this? I'll tell you why:

As of today, my latest work, Dark Spirits is complete. Grossing in at 186 Word pages, DS represents the first fic I have ever completely written before posting.

That means between now and September 24th, I'll be doing two things. The first, is that I'll be diligently proof-reading DS to make sure that your reading experience is not interrupted by glaring typos and mistakes that can marr a written-on-the-spot fic. I'll be adding in cool scenes that I thought up in a mid-day brain-storming session, but forgot in the wee hours of late-night writing. In short, I'm gonna be giving DS a once over.

And the second thing I'll be doing is this. DS is only the second in the EoT series. So now it's time to move on and begin brain-storming the next chapter in the series The Insurrectors. That way, by Sept. 24th, I can begin writing that little piece of work.

So now you're asking, well that's all great, but what're we supposed to do with this thread now?

Well it just so happens that you're in luck. Cause now, you can use this thread to post your questions, comments, and concerns to me in between my stories. I'll also be posting little spoilers and tidbits here, so keep on the lookout for those, as well as updates and important information regarding my fics.

Thank you all who come here and read my fics. If any of you haven't read my stuff, just ask me and I'll post a list of links here for you. :D

Thanks Sari! And yes, feel free to bag away here all you like. It keeps me honest. :D

BTW, to keep myself occupied I just finished writing the prologue to Insurrectors. (To be honest that's about as far as I've gotten in terms of solid plotline. [face_blush]) Would anyone be interested in a little "advance screening"? ;) :D

Alright, ask and ye shall recieve. :D I present to you an excerpt from the prologue of The Insurrectors. The events here take place approximately two years after the events of Dark Spirits

    *************************************

(Musical Note: "Also Spracht Zarathustra" aka 2001 Space Odyssey Theme: Jazz variation.)

Saul had never been in a modern spaceport before, but it only took him five minutes to figure out how to get his lightsaber and the high-explosive device through the New Republic security measures.

He was wearing a loud Toprawan rainbow shirt with a pair of black slacks. On his head was a shockball cap featuring the logo of the Pinnacle City Privateers. Saul also carried in one hand a small carry-on bag, and in his hand, a simple nerf-hide jacket. Trailing behind him was a trundling R5 astromech unit he had purchased and modified in the past month.

His lightsaber already hidden in the bundle of his jacket, Saul approached the metal/energy detector. The detector was a common security device found in spaceports as well as many other high-security buildings and organizations throughout the New Republic. Not only could the detector pick up different metals common in blasters and other weapons, but it could also pick up the energy signatures found in everything from blaster packs to the dormant energy within grenades and other explosives. Still, as Saul approached the detector station, he wore the confident grin of a harmless tourist.

As his turn came up to enter the detector, Saul thrust his jacket at one of the supervising security officers. "Hold this for me, will ya?" Saul quipped staying in character. He passed through the detector without a blip.

Snatching his jacket back from the confused security officer, Saul replied, "Thanks man, I appreciate it." The security officer waved him off, as Saul went to the next station where his bags and the astromech droid were checked. As security officials searched through his carry-on, a droid technician approached Saul. "Sir, I?m going to ask you to let me check your droid."

"Sure, go ahead and ask me," Saul replied.

The droid tech blanched in confusion, "But?but I just did, didn?t I?"

Deciding to ride this for all it was worth, Saul put on a look of shock. "You did? Wow! You?re good, man! Must be because you?re such a smart guy, workin? with droids and all."

The tech gave him a weird look, and then began to plug his equipment into the R5 unit, "Yeah, must be."

Saul knew what the droid tech was doing; searching his unit for any malicious programming that might cause the droid to run amok or randomly explode. Fortunately, the slicing expert he?d seen had promised that the best droid specialists in the NR would be hard pressed to find anything amiss with the harmless looking droid. Still, Saul had to play the part of a hapless tourist so he bent over by where the tech was crouched and asked, "Whatcha doing, sport?"

The tech looked up and was momentarily taken aback by primitive red and black tattoos covering Saul?s face. But then on a closer inspection, the tech saw Saul?s kindly hazel eyes, his goofy grin, and the Privateers cap, and his fears were put aside. Here was just another ignorant tourist who understood about as much about his own droid as he did about quantum physics.

"All done sir," the tech said, disengaging his equipment, "You?re free to go, have a nice day on Corulag."

    Ooooh, interesting!!
You've really got my attention now, Rok. Now I'm anxious for Dark Spirits and Insurrectors to start. :p
That was really cool, I could just see him getting the better of the security guards and cruising right on through without being caught.
Was the mention of the tatoos supposed to bring Maul to mind? 'Cause they did--hey, wait a minute: Saul--Maul. Coincidence? Or more...? I can't wait to find out!! :D

BTW, on an uninteresting side note, when I was in Junior High band, we once played "Also Spracht Zarathustra."

What?! I said it was uninteresting. ;)

Thanks Sari! :D As a matter of fact, I got the idea to use "ASZ" because I played it in my High School stage band. Small world, i guess. ;)

Truth be told, Saul's character does come into play in DS, and you learn why he is the way he is. In my mind I kind of see his personality as a mix of the wit of Billy Crystal and the bizarre antics of Jim Carrey.

And as for the Maul connection...PM me if you'd like some more info. ;)

I was anxiously waiting for "Dark Spirits" to come up... now I can't wait for it to be done so I can read the whole thing and have more from "The Insurrectors!"

I loved the whole post, Rok, especially the "I'm going to ask to check your droid," "All right, go ahead" exchange. :D

LOL, thanks Ty-gon, glad you liked that. That whole scene was loosely based on a novel by comedian Dave Barry, entitled "Big Trouble" which I believe is also a movie coming out soon, I think. There a criminal was smuggling a nuclear warhead through airport security claiming it was an antique dishwasher, or something like that. ;)

    And now, UP!!

    New Dark Spirits update.

I'm currently putting the story through a major rewriting phase, adding and changing scenes around after having nothing less than an epiphany with regards to one of the sub-plots. And my inspiration has come from nothing short of God, Himself. ;)

Suffice to say the posting date is still set to Sept. 24th, until further notice. I have had plenty of time this weekend to think over the plot changes, and I'm pretty sure I can get everything I need done in the next 21 days. ;)

Why a sudden rewrite of certain chapters? I figure if I have all this extra time, i want to make DS as pleasing to you the readers as possible. That means reworking any rushed chapters and putting in as much action and drama as I can concieve. Will DS blow your socks off? I dunno, but I can hope. ;)

    Till the next update...

Thanks Whiskey! Gald you made it here! :D

As for downloadable music, might I recommend a site called Audiogalaxy? I find that after the censor lock-down imposed on Napster, that it doesn't offer the same availability it used to.

    Enjoy! :D

Great updates, Rok! It's cool to be able to put a face to the names of the ppl you meet online. Generally ppl look nothing like I expect, but you actually look a lot like I imagined. :)

And I would love to hear the Cal Poly pirated-DVD's story. I'd go for option number three of contacting you, but California's a long throw for someone in Ohio. :p
You can email me at saslrk@hotmail.com or just pm me or whatever.

Hey, the 24th is only eight days away! Cool!! :D

Hmm, what a coincidence, then? Well i'm glad you enjoyed the personal section. As for the pirated dvd story, I'll start working on it tomorrow. ;)

And yep, only eight more days until DS premieres. Man. the summer seemed to go by so quick, and yet it seems like so long before I'm ready to post. Believe I'm just as eager to begin posting as you are to begin reading.

    Til the 24th!
