    LOL
Yeah, that was a bit odd that

Twas a shame he got booed though, Vade should get a grand ovation. After all, Star Wars wouldn't be cool without him

it was a shame. the guy shaking fist and we all booed. he must have felt like a ruddy idiot!

It wasnt the 501st or vader, it was the fact we all thought "that was it"

you want stay away from Imperial College then - there's a 4:1 male-female ratio

Sounds about right, Imperial is like UMIST (where I go) in the sense that its a Science and Technology university - subjects which are heavily male dominated.

I must say since the Manchester University and UMIST merger the male-female ratio has improved, however on our campus (the Engineering campus) its still all blokes.

And if you think thats a kick in the balls, we also do around 30-35 hours a week, laboratories, lectures and tutorials. So much for university life!!!

Yes, its enough to put you off

I am considering going to Uni. Partly cos everyone says its the best years of your life and you can just get completely hammered all the time.

But if its just spending hours having lectures & writing 8 12-page essays a day then I'm not doing it.

I've done the Uni thing once...and I'm doing it AGAIN!!! :p

I loved university. It was fun. You get to meet loads of people, make loads of friends - and in England, the course work isn't as hard as it is in the USA.

Plus, when I graduate this time round (2009ish), I'll have two degrees under my belt! Looks good on a CV! :)

I am considering going to Uni. Partly cos everyone says its the best years of your life and you can just get completely hammered all the time.

I wouldn't say its the best years of your life - to start with you've no effing money. And I found I got more hammered when I was working mainly because I could.

I would suggest that if you want an easy life at university don't do a science based subject, even though it will greatly increase your job prospects.

That's why I'm doing philosophy. An excuse to sit around, claim you're 'thinking', and drink copious amounts of alcohol.

I'm hoping to either go to Oz, or Liverpool and do Marine Science. An excuse to go diving, windsurfing and swimming everyday for "research purposes". In Oz they go to the great barrier reef for their practical exam, how great is that?!

Marine Science is something I considered doing
But I doubt I'll get sufficient science grades for it

I would suggest that if you want an easy life at university don't do a science based subject
    Bugger!
Thats me out of it then :p
