    Hi all!
If you haven't received Eric's recent email (see below), please send him your name, address, phone and email addresses. The storm last week caused a power surge while he was sending an email and it wiped out 6 FilmCon's worth of emails, including his mailing list for emails.

Also, please send in your money for FilmCon 7 as well!

    Eric's Email:

    Hello Everyone,

It's time again, more updates and more news. First thing is we have
guests...more than before. I will be releasing ALL the info soon but I have to say that this year is starting to look like a lot of fun!

As many of you know we are trying anime for the first time. Stacey Lee Feldman will be running this division of the convention. She has already completed the panel lists and is currently looking for panel members.

We are also about half way done with the sci-fi media portion of the
convention. Leslie Andrich and a few others have helped out and are putting together a great line up of panels. We still need groups and individuals to talk at the convention. So if you have an idea for a panel, if you want to volunteer for a specific talk, or have a group that would like to make a presentation...please let me know soon. I would also like to have ideas on what you would like to see as panels at this years convention.

Last but not least, film. The film portion of the convention will be HUGE! Yes we will be demonstrating out new Steadycam, and dolly/track system, along with several other gagets. There will be a huge push to show new technologies for film makers, while also showing more practical stuff. Again if there is something you would like to see, or have a demo let me know.

    There is still time.

We are also working on showing the latest fan films and movies. As usual we need submissions, so spread the word.

Now some bad news...last week my computer was hit by a large electrical surge. Luckily nothing was running except-the email program. What happened was that I lost ALL of the last 6 conventions email listings and info for contacting you, the fans.

We have started to put back together the list- BUT WE NEED HELP! If you know a friend or someone who has attended, ask if they received this email. If not we need their address asap. One reason we can
keep cost down is due to the fact 99% of the mailings are in email format. Without it, the convention would cost much more to run. So this is important.

Again if someone might be missing or you have a newer address, we need to know.
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bryan Arendt will be back with many more pieces of art. Currently he is working on set 2 of the Star Wars characters. He is also expanding the line into others fandoms. There will even be some new designs from Pirates of the Caribbean.

That's all for now- PLEASE let me know if you want to participate with the programming and pass this message along.

More emails are coming soon. The cost for the convention is only $30 right now - so sign up!

See you all this Fall- Eric

I registered at the last FilmCon, so I'm good.

I know many wait until the last second, but it's cheap and very fun to go to, so why wait?

How about we do lunch on Sunday?
Sunday "usually" is a half day and we can talk about what we did at FilmCon (what we liked and etc.). If Sunday is more than half a day, we can have a late lunch or early dinner.

If we can go to a not-so-busy place, I'd like that best. I think there's still a Ponderosa close to Gammon. There's also a Mexican restaurant over by Hooters. I can't remember the name of it though.
We can decide when the time is closer.

Of course we will run into each other during the convention, and can talk then about it as well.

Anyway, that's my idea, for what it's worth.

That does sound good, we won't miss anything really that way. I remember last year Dinner was kind of rushed because we wanted to get back.

Yeah well either way there are like one hour breaks in between programming that we can get something to eat too. But Rick's idea sounds good.

The Mexican place over by Hooter's is a Qodoba francise. It has pretty good food, and you can get what you want made to order. I thought the Old Chicago place was really loud.

I'm going to go ahead and post Eric's latest email here for the heck of it. I know that it could be use to Bevin and Natalie. So here you go.

It's that time again. Less than 3 weeks for hotel reservations, the
    memberships and last minute plans.

For starters we still have plenty of room for members. I would have
    liked to
see more pre-registrations, but like usual I will see many at the door.
    For
those who have signed up all you have to do is go to the registration
    table
and sign in. You will receive your badge and info. If you sign up at
    the
door it will take 2 additional minutes to collect all your info.

To make sure costs are cut up front, I will be emailing out the entire
    PDF
form of panels the weekend before the convention. It will give everyone
    a
chance to print their own copies. They are color coded, to help you
    know
    what room things are in.

Red is general FilmCon stuff along with Movies. Blue is Science fiction
panels and Gold is film making. I will also have color coded signage up
    at
the hotel to help out. Because the main hallway will have most of the
traffic I am putting the PATHFINDER display and auction in the far
    hall-closer to hotel check in.

Remember that you must sign up for rooms by November 5th. You do
    receive a
FREE breakfast with the room. Not donuts and coffee but a complete
    buffet
that includes juices and Starbucks coffee. The usual cost is around
    $12.
So far there are about 22 rooms per night taken. Except for the hotels
    great
Bistro...I would suggest a trip that lasts all of 60 seconds to an
    Indian
restaurant (Maharaja) that everyone I know loves. There is also a full
service Starbucks with 2 minutes of the hotel along with West Townes
    food
    court.

The cutoff date for $30 memberships is Oct. 31st. So please make sure
    that
all letters and checks are marked before this date. The $35 price is
    until
the 10th. Then $40 at the door.

I have received many NEW people and would like to know where you heard
    about
the convention and what areas of film making and such you are
    interested in.
This will help me better plan the weekend. PLEASE just those people who
    have
    never attended before.

Next to the registration table will be Bryan Arendt's art table. He
    will
have an entirely new collection of star Wars art available along with
    some
at from batman and Firefly. The art is limited so plan to look early.

There will also be a few NEW pieces that fans of Firefly and Pirates
    might
find attractive in the auction. Speaking of which, we will also have
    some
new LIFE SIZE Galactica pieces up for your consideration. Yes both
    Apollo
and Heilo. Plus many other great deals that all go to help fight Breast
    Cancer.

As an added incentive, I am enclosing one of Bryan's newest
    pieces...YODA!
    Enjoy it.

I am looking forward to seeing everyone again and meeting all the new
members as well. I think you will find that this convention is small
    but
very personable and fun. Come with your head full of questions and
    ideas.
Talk to each other over the weekend and share your stories and ideas.
    But
    most importantly have fun!

    See everyone soon-
