For all you comic book lovers

There's a "Comic Book Day" at the United Book Store/Halley's Comics on May 1st. They're giving out free comics on "selected" titles. Oh and someone said there'll be "cake" there.

 

Yeah, free comic day. Happened last year too.

There was a free SW comic then, but I don't think there's any this year ...

 

Well, I'll ask "Steve" if there is any free Star Wars comics.

P.S. Steve works there, used to work at Crystal Palace.

I want to get rid of alot of my comics. X-men mostly.

Yes, but I'm not big on X-men comics. Or any superhero, for that matter. The only superhero comics I'm really interested are the Death & Return of Superman, and maybe a few Batman ones, like Knightfall or The Long Halloween ...

Those are the comics that got me collecting years ago. But then I lost a job and had to stop.
I was so into the "Death of Superman" story line that I even picked up the story on tape. (not as good as the comic)

Yep. Both are good reads. Don't cover nearly as much as the comics though, of course.

 

The only comics I collect now are Star Wars and The Punisher. Starting in May I'll be picking up the new Voltron series from Devil's Due, and in June I'm gonna start the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles from DreamWave

 

The only comics I read are Star Wars, which I started getting because references to them in novels were frustrating.

Oh, and I borrow some manga from friends.

 

Oh sorry, I got it wrong, the Comic book thing is on May 3rd, Saturday.

Yes free comic day is a cool day but unfortunately it is not meant for the hardcore lovers of comics. The issues releases are often cut down or have a fake cover making them mostly nonecollectibles. The day is rather for any fans who don't collect but want to start. With the recent media interest it makes sense to allow people an open oppurtunity to start into things...last year they had a SW one and part of the first Ultimate SPiderman...great stuff...

 

But they're gonna have cake there!
