~**Freeware Competition I**~ ~**Competition Thread**~

This is the official thread on the competition.

Rules:
1. The software you use must be freeware.
2. Must be a fan film with effects that we have seen.
3. No more than 3 scenes without FX.
4. List all software used. And the method to do it.
5. No "I got a special deal and got it free"!
6. Commercially packaged software that came with your camera is not allowed.
7. FREE DOES NOT MEAN PIRACY
8. Every single frame must be from freeware software.
9. Questions come to me. Either PM me or AIM me at DanielLevin182
10. Exact Due Date Pending. Some time in mid-May
11. Everyone has a vote.
12. Music can be commercially obtained. I do not want to get TFN in trouble for having stolen music.
13. If props or costumes are home-made you have a better chance to get your entry in to Freeware Competition I
14. This is your friend
15. You may have made alterations to your open source programs, this is allowed

 

Are you saying we have to add fx to a fanfilm we have seen?

Yeah...it's not much better than the old one. Still very basic

So, you're looking for tutorials as well? This is starting to sound like someone just wants to collect a bunch of tutorials.

Must use Freeware for the effects, but everyone is free to option or license for an ungodly amount of money for music...?

Honestly, I think you should let somebody else handle this. You're doing it sloppily, and it sucks because everybody's agreed this is a cool idea for a contest. It deserves better organization.

This is now the 'Interest and Discussion thread' as I am sure with the first 6 replies people will not be interested

 

In that case, I think we should discuss the whole point of this competition. What are your aims for this competition? What is it's purpose?

 

To see if all the money that we spend on new Adobe Products is worth it when freeware is there to do the same thing.
And Hat, fom what you say you will get a head start, good for you. or you can be banned from the competition
I dedcided to do this competition because there are no comps around here at this time
