heh I have to travel a little further

I could do with the holiday but at the moment I don't really have the money especially if I am to go Germany in October to meet up with the people from the German fan force

It all depends on where in Charlotte you're starting from. I'm on the north side of town and I'm right at 3 hours from Lynchburg, VA. Blacksburg is about 4.5 hours if you went to Lynchburg first then over to Blacksburg. You could probably shorten it a lot though by taking I-77 north and cutting over on I-81.

 

Distances in the south seem so elusive.

I mean something could be 2 hours by the crow flies, but 4 hours by car, with all your weird little small roads and what not

How many lanes on your freeways?

 

Depends. 2 per side on average, though some have 6 total and I think one has 8..?

Kessel: Don't listen to Riding. We have plenty of four, six, and eight-lane highways, especially around Charlotte--we are a metropolitan area of over a million people. So, four hours on the interstate going 70 mph--except during rush hour on I-77 inside Mecklenburg County, in which case the average speed is about two miles per hour. However, unlike in LA, people aren't pointing Uzzis out of their car windows, aimed at passing motorists.

 

70 mph on the freeway? What are you a backwood?

Of course in rush hour in LA we're lucky to hit 40 mph.

Our average is a 3 lane, the most I have seen in this country is 5 and thats where another freeway connected to the main route down the country. The 5 lanes lasted about 2 mins

 

Actually, he reminds me of Bush, butI don't like to publically speak out against Republican presidents.

 

The 405 Freeway through LA (the San Diego Freeway) has about 5 or 6 lanes in each direction with one permanent CarPool Lane in each direction as well. Of course your metro area has about a million people and this metro area has about 12 million.

 

Boy does this country seem small now

 

Man.... Tracy, we don't have a lot of them. On average our roads here are 2 lane per sides when it comes to large roads (with exceptions such as Park Rd. ).

And I don't want to discuss politics here.

And as far as Park Road--yeah, no kidding. Don't get me started. I live right off Park Road. It's a pain in the ass trying to go to work in the morning, and it's been that way ever since I moved here. How much friggin' construction can they do on a friggin' water main?

 

They were doing construction on it 13 years ago when I first moved there.

Man, I've seen it 21+ times. I lost count. I really feel like I need a life sometimes

 

Well, y'know I'm working part time at a really high end movie theater, so I get free movies. WE decided to go last night, but we couldn't agree on which movie we wanted to see the most. It was down to between AOTC, Greek Wedding and Road to Perdition. Two of these we had seen before.

Well, since we couldn't agree, we ended up seeing AOTC again. I just picked up on the scene in the Lars' garage.

In that one minute long scene, Anakin goes through all of the points of the Yoda-ism from TPM.

"Fear leads to Anger. Anger leads to Hate. Hate leads to....suffering"

Watch it and see.

 

You know what's even cooler, is watching Return of the Jedi after seeing Attack of the Clones.. comparing and constrasting those two kicks arse

 

Hmmm, I bet there would be some great paralles and whatnot, although ROTJ is far from my fave of the series.
