Hi, I'm a SW fan and mom that lives in the western suburbs. Recently, a Del Rey publicity person started a thread in the Lit forum regarding fans getting their local bookstore to sign up for Mr. Zahn's upcoming book tour. I've contacted the Borders in Wynnewood to see if they'd be interested in having him come for a book signing there. Any support you guys can lend to help get him there would be just great. I don't know if any of you have read any of Mr. Zahns Star Wars books but they are very good.

I know that most Star Wars events seem to take place far away from the East coast or anything I can ever attend, so having him come here would be wonderful. I've never gotten involved with any Fan Force activities, so I don't know how much interest there is amongst you all. If there is, please call the store and tell them you'd like to see this event happen. Check out the thread in Lit for more info. Or PM me.

Thanks so much for listening. :)

MJ2: When you contacted the Borders what was their response to you? Did they show any interest?

POR Members: Anyone interested in getting this accomplished? We could possibly arrange a costumed event with Mr. Zahn at the bookstore. Natasha and I have had the privilege of meeting him at a FanForce dinner at Dragon Con 2002. He's a great guy and very fun to talk to.

    :)

What's his book that he's taking on tour? Its going to look really weird if we did a costumed event there and it wasn't even a Star Wars book.

The book is Survivors Quest, it's a Luke and Mara story I believe. :)

I was given the name and e-mail address of the person who takes care of all "event" type stuff at the store. I e-mailed her since I was pretty busy this weekend. I haven't heard back from her but I expect that I might on Monday. The lady I spoke to at the store seemed interested but she said I'd have to talk to this other woman. I have her phone number, fax and e-mail if any of you would like to add additional support. Just pm me. Basically Del Rey needs the stores to contact them and express interest. They have room for four more cities.

Well I heard back from Ms. Rehr, and she's interested in getting him. She said she's already booked December and they don't do much that month anyway, but she's going to try to see if they can get him for January. She promised to get back to me when she knows for sure. :)
