Ideas for Star Wars games in 2012

Since 2012 will mark the 35th anniversary of Star Wars, what ideas for Star Wars games would you like to see be released?

 

Star Wars Cop. It's a game where you're a cop. But not free-roaming.

Actually, overall, regardless of Star Wars or not, there are few games where you play a cop. There's a million where you play a soldier, but maybe just ten where you're a cop. Probably because cops are not allowed to kill indiscriminately, which might make it boring to play one.

 

Bah. Everyone knows open-world Tetris is the future of gaming.

 

GIVE ME SHADOWS OF THE EMPIRE II OR GIVE ME NO STAR WARS AT ALL!

Or another Jedi Knight game. Either would be good.

 

Maybe Star Wars Battlefront III or Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic 3.

 

This topic has been done to death. why i remember replying to a topic exactly like this no more then a week ago... anyway i agree they should remake Shadows of the empire. And it's been said a million times, bring us Battlefront III!

How about: "Everybody and their brother is a Darth" game?

 

I'd love a new X-Wing game. There's practically nothing remotely new in that genre available. I bought Sol: Exodus the other day, but it's just not the same.

 

I would love an open world RPG set during the Prequel era.

 

There is already to much canon there.

 

An espionage RPG ala Alpha Protocol set during the OT.

 

We have that with the Agent in SWTOR.

 

Maybe a new Star Wars video game that is just set during the Clone Wars.

 

Imperial Commando?

 

A version of Empire at War set in the Clone Wars era. Or Republic Commando 2/Battlefront III.

 

^ If they could get two development teams to work simultaneously on the same game, they could make the single player campaign be a sequel to Republic Commando, and have the multiplayer component be a sequel to Battlefront. That would be an awesome game. But of course, a publisher would never release together what they can make more money from by selling separately. There's also a potential risk for the publisher in that you would have to choose one of the franchise names, and the other component of the game would lose its franchise name recognition.

Unless you were to call it... Battlefront Commando...?

Republic Commando 2/ Imperial Commando
Jedi Knight 4
Knights of the Old Republic 3
Rogue Squadron 4
Empire at War 2

I mean, LA have all these great games that fans what follow ups to yet they insist on churning out sub-par Clone Wars games and creating sequels that no one asked for like Force Unleashed 2. Seriously LA, get it together!

 

I'll go the easy route with an HD tweaked versions of Ep1 Racer and Battlefront...or the slightly more difficult SW skinned version of Total War.

 

Lets hope Swtor will add some swoop races.

 

I'd like to see more post-ROTJ games.

 

Republic Commando 2. There was news on Steam last April that one of the original's creators was back at Lucasarts and messing around with the Unreal 2 engine, so maybe, maybe...
