Actually, from what I see that's a bit of a draw.

They want what they can't have.

Lightsaber hilts are a tad big, but.....woah.

Another little nugget is that the fighting will be choreographed to strike each others blade, not flail around button mashing.

I've been told that there are websites that offer "family friendly" versions of films for sale on DVD. What are the legal issues at stake when you buy an edited version of a film from a site not directly associated with the studio, distribution company, or any other legal copyright holder? Isn't that essentially buying a pirated copy?

So how can these "moral activists" claim to be doing "the right thing" when they're essentially stealing from the copyright holder?

Those aren't actual screenshots. They're just concept. Even the old KOTOR games looked better than that. The new game will be significantly more attractive.

Don't be so sure. Its an MMO, where more/finer detail means more lag and greater latency. That looks about par for an MMO, especially a new one where they haven't invested in a huge number of servers yet. Sure, it will get cleaned up some, but I doubt it will be to the level your talking about.

I've heard this from someone who's at EA, so i'm pretty sure. I'm not saying they'll be amazing, but even WoW graphics are significantly better than displayed in those graphics, and this game won't be coming out for years.

    Hmph.
I would've preferred it be "Star Wars: The Rebellion" or something like that. Something from the era of the OT, I've been craving that lately.

As far as I know, AE isn't even working on this game. Anyway, WoW has huge numbers of dedicated servers to help them handle that, and a huge player base to help pay for them. I'm not saying the graphics wont be better then those displayed, they will be, but not by a huge degree, not till they get a solid player base.

That was tried in Star Wars: Galaxies. It isn't very good, definitely not worth your money.

I've been here. This is a recent screenshot, and the first one to impress me.

Personally, I would have prefered another RPG KOTOR with next gen graphics and a story that could have a definitive ending. It's intresting that they are doing something new, but I will miss the old format.

Galaxies used to be great. But then they screwed it up big time. I still play every now and then, just to get back in touch with the people who were in my guild.

Actually, according to what was on the site a few weeks ago, those are screenshots from the test build of the game. Looks the same as all the shots from the site. But I'm sure that it's not the final build. I have full faith in bioware.

    Forgot EA bought BioWare.

I quit after the NGE came about. Totally screwed up the game.

But EA isn't listed as having any part of the creation of the game. EA might own bioware, but bioware is still the ones who are doing all the handy work. EA pays for it all, and then puts little pieces of software on the games disks, that install onto your computer without you knowing, and they block the game from ever being able to be installed on any computer ever again. i.e. Spore...

As far as test builds go, well, that really just proves my point. This early on i imagine it'd be nothing more than the foundations. You don't start building/working on an engine with the textures, the core back-bone comes first.

As for EA, it really doesn't matter whether they're actively using their staff to make the game; they'll still have carnal knowledge of it regardless.

Anyway. I shall look forward to this game with interest. But i'm concerned they can't deliver upon everything they've promised.

MMO's suck anyways. I've bought every Final Fantasy game from 1 to 10-2, skipped 11, and bought 12. I skipped it BECAUSE it was online. I play RPG's to enjoy the story in my own damn time. Graphics are nice too, and the thought of going into town, looking at the sights and shopping at the local vendor without having to read "OMG LOL NOOBS I OWN JOO!!!!" all the time is a very relieving one.
