DFW, TX It Has Begun!!

The line up for Episode 3 has begun here in DFW as of today, Wednesday, April 9th, 2003. I have set up my tent and sleeping bag in anticipation of the 6th and final installment to the Star Wars saga.

This comes within a few days of the anniversary of the Episode 2 line up, and should be right around a 2 year line up for Episode 3, to be released in 2005.

Anyone is welcome to join me!! I have electricity and running water.

 

This is a late April Fool's day joke....right? I mean, not that I wouldn't be out there if I had the means to financially...but this is a joke, right?

 

Keep an eye on my tent and stuff until tomorrow afternoon. I'll be back over there after I pick up my next unemployment check. You want me to get yours too, Mike?

 

I've seen his tent and setup. This is no joke and it's very frightening.

Hey, if you say, "I'm doing this for charity." Then you get the chance to be a media whore for quite a while instead of the 15 minutes of fame you'd get by being hauled off to the looney bin.

Disclaimer: I haven't done that - yet - the only time I camped out for SW tickets, there were about 200 other media whores who camped out along with me and 600+ by the time the tickets went on sale. I was a little SW freak in a sea of insanity, but I had a tremendous amount of fun.

 

We always do it for charity. My Guardian Angel is our current charity, and has been since during the Ep2 line.

This will be the 3rd line for me. Eric, Kenley, Brandon and I started the Ep1 line 4 years ago. Then Brandon and I were the first overnighters when we all started the Ep2 line last year.

Yes, the tent is set up in a room in my apartment (for now ). Do I get to count my EverQuest hours as time in line if I play in my tent?

So, where's the log book?? And the stinky Scarabs? And the torrential rains? And the 16 year ol.... nevermind.

 

Well, fortunately, my tent survived the high winds last night. Here's to hoping my luck holds out!

I've found that it tends to be much more safe camping indoors. So far it has also been much more enjoyable too. There have been no scarabs attacking like this was some kind of biblical plague, no 12 year olds wanting to wear my helmets, and no annoying reporters waking me up at the first light of dawn making me sing Bill Murray's SNL version of 'Star Wars, Nothing But Star Wars' on a live feed to the greater DFW metroplex!!

I have 24 hour plumming, electricity, and internet access. Life is good.


Now where is Jon with that bowling alley and hot tub??

Oh, caffine is definately involved somewhere... It may not be inside of me yet, but it's there.

As a matter of fact, while camping for EP2 we learned to anchor the corner of the tents with cinderblocks so they would keep their shape. (couldn't secure them in the ground when you're on concrete) Well, I'm using the same principle for this tent as well. Since I can't put stakes in my carpet, I have a 12pack of DP in each corner.

So I guess I'm getting caffine thru osmosis. I guess you could call it an 'environmental high'!! LOL!

You should begin a "Waiting in line for Ep. 3" diary.

"Day 213: News crews invade my home and start snapping pictures while I'm asleep - have decided to move my tent to the theater."

You know, stuff like that. And hey - you could probably even sell it to some publisher - SW fanatics unite!
