A bit short notice, but how about a meet at Old Sarum?

English Heritage are doing a knights tour, which looks like it could be very good indeed. It's completely unchoreographied so all the action is real.

Founded in the Iron Age and occupied until the 16th century, this is a historic site where Romans, Saxons and Normans have all left their mark. Part of the Domesday Book was written here and on its completion it was to Sarum that William The Conqueror summoned all the landholders in England to swear their oath of allegiance."

What time will the thing start? It's not very specific.

And what time will people be there? If Rachel's going on Sunday it'd probably be the best day for a meet, as I can make sunday, and it's generally quite a free day for people.

 

The site says 10am-5pm, so I'm hoping to be there from 9:30am, it depends on when I can get my family to go as I'll be getting there with them.

 

I'll try and talk Blade into it, so we can make it an official meet. I'll probably get there at 10, if I can find it. I'll just have to walk up Castle Road and keep going until I get speared or somthing

 

Looks like I'll be missing this one, shame

That would be so crap if you do actually get it done and forget the evidence.

 

I have important news!!

The event starts at 11:30am and not 10am like I thought it did and the site only opens at 10am!

So, because of this, we need to change the meeting time to 11am. This should give up pleanty of time to meet and find a good spot to watch the events from.

I hope everyone who goes gets this message, I don't want to turn up and find someone's been waiting for an hour and a half.

Right, so it seems that only myself and Rachel are going, and it'll be at 11am. Anything else, because I won't be able to get on between now and then.

I would, but he's all weird and depressed again, and he's too busy looking for his direct out lead between his amp and Mbox And I have to stay over my dad's tonight so that I can get there easier, and no internet, so I can't convince him. He's not online now anyway

 

Well, I had a fun time, even if it was a bit wet. I have a feeling the Cobra went home, I got stuck in traffic and didn't turn up till 11:45.

 

Aye, I went home, but because of the weather. Bloody horrid. I left at 12:30, I did see you, in the Shop tent thingy after the Archery, but then I looked around because some American dude asked me where I got my coke, and then I turned around and couldn't find you again

 

oh. I was thinking you'd have waited by the main entrance. At least you saw me, I don't think I spotted you anywhere.

 

I was late myself, I got there about 11:10, so I thought you'd already gone in I asked Serena if she had your mobile number, but she didn't

 

I kept thinking 'I should give him my number' only this was after you'd left for your dad's house and you wouldn't have gotten it. I think better plannining is needed for the next meet.
