    While I'm no authority on Rebel Legion costuming guidelines, unless you're specifically trying to mimic an exact costume, the KOTOR era is quite suitable for original "non formal" costumes that borrow from a variety of the different jedi styles... and really, that's the only time I can think it'd even be something to worry about. :) I always thought of each knight/padawan/master having their own sort of style as they were quite possibly hand made (or certainly individually tailored). For example, my first stab at creating tabards had a solid back rather then two individual pieces so as to avoid that annoying tabard slip problem. Were you trying to pick up ideas or go after a specific character costume? :confused:

    Oh no, I just didn't know what a KotOR knight was, and I always thought of prequel era as "Old Republic", that's what confused me. But if the costumes are different than prequel era, I'm just interested in knowing about them. I'm actually putting together a Republic-Era Jedi Knight costume codex I might later expand to the other eras. And yes, if their costumes tickled my fancy I might add one to my list of costumes to make ;)

    Thanks for all the info :)

    No problem! :)

    While it's been awhile since I played the KOTOR games, I do remember there being a fair share of "generic" Jedi looks - obi/tabards/robe/tunics/etc for the NPCs and default character designs. I think the game tended to stray a way from that as you played so it could show you "progressing" through different levels of armor and equipment - the biggest difference from the Prequel and KOTOR era that I can think of is that Jedi tended to be bulkier, and the clone wars Ani/Obi looks were remeniscient (sp?) of that.

    Um, these pics of yours aren't actually KoToR costumes, germaneljedi. It looks like you're just going around and posting costume pics in random places.

    I just finished up my Juhani costume, so I thought I would share some pictures:

    Figuring out how to get the correct look with the head and the ponytail was definitely one of the most challenging parts.

    I love it!!! Cathars are my favorite species, hence my name "Furiafelina" means: Feline Rage.
    I haven't seen any other Juhani costume, you must be the first, right?
    It's very accurate, colors and all... just great!

    I made a Cathar Jedi costume. It is a tiger. It's not a character, just a generic jedi, but a Cathar generic jedi nontheless.

    That's a pretty awesome Cathar too!

    I'm such an accuracy nut, that it made me so happy to get everything down to colors and materials right.

    I'll say, there is no way anyone can mistaken your character with that costume. You could say it's purrrfect.

    I didn't exactly do a Jedi costume, but this seems like an appropriate thread regardless...

    At long last, I finished my "dark side mod Bastila Shan" costume for Dragon Con. Its based on a skin for KoToR I found somewhere on the internet, it was way more interesting than the *actual* dark side robes (well, at least more complicated.. lol), so of course I fell in love with it. Miles and miles of red suede binding, black snakeskin/pleather/stuff for the "armor", and super soft black bamboo (novelty!) knit for the body suit. The bindin was a beast, and I need to rework parts of it. Mitered corners were not my friend. The gold was done with floral spray and a stencil. The boots were an AMAZING Plato's Closet find - $20! I need to fix the top portion of the belt so it angles the right way and add a wee belt for pouches. The collar needs to be fixed (its hand sewn on... my poor fingers still have holes) too. And the hair/makeup need work. but other than that... I'm pretty happy with it. It'll be perfect (enough) next year! :)

    Here's the picture I based it on:

    And here are the only two pictures I've found thus far (I need to take proper pictures!):

    That's a really awesome costume. I'm hoping to do Bastila's regular "outfit" someday.

    You did a really great job. It is much better than her plain old dark side costume. =D=

    That's a pretty fantastic Dark Side Bastila- much more awesome than the standard black Jedi robes. This is one of those cases when it is entirely appropriate to just say Screw Canon. :p It looks great!

    Okay, so I've been up to more recent KOTOR Jedi escapades.

    First, over the summer I made a costume for my original character from the era. *coughs and points unsubtly at the top link in her signature bar* She's not officially KOTOR, but she's KOTOR enough for me, and I took a lot of visual cues from the comics.

    [image=http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b179/JediDWH/leiraya_nobg-1.jpg]

    [image=http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b179/JediDWH/100_4754med.jpg]

    The second is a little more accurate- in the stories, she doesn't wear boots, but at most Rebel Legion events she kind of has to. Unfortunate, but there are worse fates. I like the costume a lot- it's a lot of fun to run around in, and super comfortable. And mostly friendly for insanely hot California weather- I survived an unbearably hot weekend at the LA County Fair in the costume, so I feel pretty good about that.

    Next up is a lot less girly, and is in fact a guy. I'm working on making Zayne Carrick's fugitive costume. Why? Because Zayne is awesome, and I really like the character design. Why let something like gender get in the way of having fun? So far, I just have a wig and a mockup of the tunic and cowl.

    [image=http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b179/JediDWH/DSCF2773.jpg]

    I'm mostly happy with how it came out... I might change a few things, but overall I like it. Even the Barbie fabric lends its own sort of charm... :p Of course I'm researching better fabrics. But these have given me a pretty good idea of how the thing's going to go together, which makes me feel better about the whole project. And Snoopy is awesome, so it works.

    Upgrading my old Visas Marr costume is a project as well- one I can commence sometime early next year, I expect. So, lots of KOTOR costuming all around. It's a good way to be! :D
