Gorefiend 12. What are your favorite comics and graphic novels, both in and out of SW?

    13. What is it that draws you to Hutts? And what is your favorite depiction of Hutts in SW?

    SW
    SW Crossbones :)

    Not-SW
    Y: The Last Man

I always liked Gangster and Pirate movies and with Jabba as a Pirate Lord and Criminal Mastermind basically owning his own planet of course peaked my interested. Once you dig into the EU though you can’t help but love the Hutts, they are just a total counter-culture to the Republic, Empire, Jedi and the Sith, having survived and thrived for millennia just with their smarts whilst building a society that is a fascinating mix of giant ego and a struggle for survival in a galaxy that has always hated them.

The Han Solo Trilogy Hutts are great. :)

I've heard that Y: The Last Man is fairly good. I'll have to look into it soon.

Lando, Jabba, Karrde, Han, Luke (on his better days), Leia, Randa, Nom, Zsinj and the Wraiths.

Healing, because it would certainly prove the most useful to humanity. ;)

It is so good that back after buying the first TPB I took a 2 hour trip back to the store just to get the rest of the run so I could read it in one go. :)

Gorefiend Yeah, I also zoomed through Y The Last Man and enjoyed it immensely. It's part of why I checked out BKV's also awesome Saga.

    16. If you could live on any planet in the GFFA, what would that be?

    17. What is your opinion of The Clone Wars TV show? How do you feel now that it's finally over?

Really hard to say, as even nice planets in the GFFA come with a certain level of suck, though Zeltros sounds pleasant enough. ;)

A lot of wasted potential sadly, it would really just have needed better writing and more storyline planning and it could have been legitimately good.

The art style is not to my liking, but the characters seem interesting and I hope they get a good team dynamic going and some more mature stories then TCW.

    Buy some real estate. ;)

    22. What is the funniest thing you've ever seen/done?

Daley and Neil Smith just to ask them for their inspirations. Billy Dee Williams just because. :p

It may sound incredible childish, but for Halloween a group of friends and me once dressed up as American Depression era gangsters and at almost ridiculous expense rented a restored Studebaker Director + driver, to cruise the town. :D

And that's the end of the interview! Give a round of applause for Gorefiend. =D=

We'll be back with a new interview soon, but right now the floor is now open for anyone else to ask Gore any questions.

Ok, since you're a Hutt specialist:

Embra! What's your opinion of him? Like, dislike, or somewhere in between, and why? Any personal theories about why he's so different from the stereotypical Hutt?

Love him, still hope for a novel where Mander Zuma and his Sisar Runners team up to fight the Vong.

Just different business approach is what I always figured and afaik also how Star Wars Gamer explained it.

Durga from Darksabre is a mess, there are also those incredible inept Shell Hutts from the Bounty Hunter Wars (but then everyone in that novel series is an idiot) and of course the Hutts in Death, Lies, & Treachery comic are also somewhat “special”.

Alright, it's time for our next subject, AdmiralWesJanson! [face_party]

    1. Tell us about your username, why you chose it, what it means, etc. And what is the best way to address you?

    2. What made you sign up for the Jedi Council Forums? Do you post on any other forums?

Sorry for the delay. Turns out rainy weather means more people call 911, leading to a busy shift.

Both questions are related, so I'll just put my answer in a single convoluted mess for you all to pick through.

Long long ago, when I was a wee one aged 10 or so, my first Star Wars book was Rogue Squadron. Before I had even seen the movies, I was in a book store and saw a cool cover of space planes and explosions over a planet. I had no idea about Star Wars, but the cover looked cool, so I bought it. At the time I got hooked on Corran Horn, and used that as my name in games, especially the S-Wing collectors edition (good times).

But then Wraith squadron came along, and I discovered that Corran didn't stand up to the awesomeness that was Wes. Thus, when I joined my first online forum, the hallowed X-Wing Alliance Upgrade project, I chose Wes as my user name. Not quite sure why I chose to be a Major though. I'm sure it made sense at the time. From the XWAU, I would occasionally come here (especially the Fleet Junkie related threads) and finally decided to start chiming in on discussions.

Unfortunately, when I joined this place, "Major" Wes Janson was unavailable as a user name. Since I joined initially to participate in the Fleet Junkie thread, Wes got a promotion to Admiral.

For consistency's sake, I use MajorWesJanson as my username for all the forums that I participate in now (except here, as noted above). Mainly a group of Warhammer 40K sites (Warseer, DakkaDakka, Bell of Lost Souls, and Bolter & Chainsword), Fanfiction.net, and a couple of Community fan community sites.

Thanks to usin the same name, online I have become used to answering to Wes, MajorWes, or MWJ. Here I suppose it is AdmiralWes and AWJ. And even though I broke free of WoW a few years back, I'll still respond to Jaya, my character I used to play there. I wouldn't say no to "Mister Mara Jade" though :D

Are any of the X-Wing modding communities still active? I discovered the TIE Fighter total conversion project only a few months before the Darksaber site sadly vanished from the face of the internet.
