this sucks.... i had it set to one year, then i logged out to test something... !!

 

I'm really starting to get sick of having to login all the time. I log in, then go to add a message to a board... Then I go and check another board straight after and hit post reply and then I'm having to login again. My cookies are enabled, there is no reason why it should continually be logging me out, but it is. It never used to do this with the once a year. I have it set to once every 2 weeks, but that doesn't seem to matter. It keeps asking me like once every 2 minutes! Is anyone else having this problem?

 

Can't say I am, but I still can't see what difference it'll make to a hacker.

Nope. The closest thing I have to logging in all the time is when I use my other computer. Then whenever I shut down I have to re-login because my computer refuses the cookies for some reason. Other than that, I've changed to every 24 hours and haven't logged in in forever, which says quite a bit about my posting habits.

The way I understand it, the "Login time" doesn't mean that you have to login every two weeks. It means that after two weeks of being inactive, you will have to log in. This doesn't seem like a problem for most people.

I'm pretty sure that's exactly what Kadue was saying in his post:

"The time isn't a case of after an hour, it will ask you for your password, but after an hour of inactivity it will. So if you don't post or load up a page in that time, then it will ask for it."

 

Bingo.

 

Then that makes it even more strange... I'm always on the boards, every day... And I continually get asked to login. As far as I know, my account hasn't been inactive for over a day at the most.

 

You might do the cookie fix on the last page, then start all over again.

 

Ok, I've redone the cookie fix, but it didn't work before...

 

The Cookie fix deal doesn't work for me on my other computer, necessitating login whenever I reboot.

If that does not work, the next option would be to have a look at the settings you have for the cookies. Sometimes just enabling them isn't all that has to be done as there might be other security settings on them that are causing trouble.
