I want to see a Jedi use a wooden staff empowered by the force to block a light saber

 

Glasses that project a lightsabers blade from the nose bridge.
Cyclops it...

 

Gloves...with nails! That burst out mini sabers...
Sabretooth it..

 

Why don't we have some lightsaber bread slicers? Because they toast the bread while slicing it.

But I wouldn't mind seeing another lightsaber variation, but not to the point of tackiness. The classic 'saber will still be the standard.

 

How about a staff sheathed in a layer of cortosis ore. Cortosis is one of only a very small handful of materials that can stop a lightsaber blade.

 

Ewwwww no cortisis. That was lame.

There was some Zoidberg-looking Jedi who just had a stick, but it was imbued with the force so it could fight a lightsaber.

I would be ok with that.

 

No because that would defeat the purpose of force empowered weapon.

Hah, remember that the yellow lightsaber was like the first lightsaber toy in existence. So yellow is old news by now.



Also, wasn't there a Jedi in the Geonosis arena with a yellow saber? I seem to remember one...

 

I remember we all thought Yoda was going to have yellow, based on some leaked Lego set pictures. But like 80% of the spoilers released they were false.

 

General Krell's (from TCW) was a cool new design. He had two double bladed swords, and they folded. They were also emitted a thicker energy beam.

Personally, I hope they don't change the way laser swords are too much. They seem pretty cool the way they are.

I hope we see a lot of new things with this coming trilogy, but I do hope certain things stay the same.

 

We've seen a wooden staff thing. Vodo-Siosk Baas, right?

 

I definitely want to see new colors, and different hues of the ones we already have seen.

Different shades of Blue, Green, Purple.

New Colors: Magenta, Yellow, Orange, Silver.

 

I think this is pretty much the only place left to go.

 

how about like, a cloud likesaber.

one that you don't need to carry around with you on your person, but that you can access anytime and anywhere, as long as you have both access rights to the great interstellar communications array and a decent signal. then you could like, walk into jabbas palace (again, assuming there's a relay nearby giving you signal) and be all unarmed and then he throws you into the rancor pit to die and all seems hopeless and lost until you're like BLAM, CLOUD ACCESSED LIGHTSABER and it shoots from your hands and you murder the hell out of everything.

that'd be cool.

and then when the film climaxes and you're all set to overcome evil HOLY HELL YOU DROPPED OUT OF SIGNAL RANGE and you have to rely on good ol' fashioned wits and cunning to save the day.

that'd be a good story.

 

I'd like to see someone use a variable-length saber, on a bad guy. From several meters away. Surprise!

Also, it'd be cool to see other blade colors used with major characters, like yellow or silver blades. And the variations of hilt design are endless.

 

I personally don't want to see any lightsabers that aren't primary or secondary colors. No "shades"

 

No yellow or orange lightsabers please. They're ugly! I always cringe when I see them. Forked lightsabers or sabercanes would be cool. You know, you parry a strike and than smack your opponent with the other end.

 

Assuming the colour reflects the frequency of the blade, how about pushing the frequency outside the visible spectrum. Ultra-violet, infra-red, an invisible blade would be much harder to defend against.

Requiring the opponent to wear special goggles/headset in order to see it...

And maybe if the blade is ultra-high frequency, it could be enough to cut through other lightsabers. Maybe this has already been done in the EU?

To be honest... I would just like to see normal sabers or double bladed ones. The EU is for crazy saber ideas, not the films! It would be nice to see a double bladed saber again, or a Jedi/Sith who fights exclusively with two sabers. We saw Anakin do that, but never anyone who had it as their main fighting style, unless you count Grevious, but then he fought with four. Also, different colours would be cool to see.

A "lightwhip"? That doesn't seem like it belongs in Star Wars at all...
