In this thread you post the player who first pops in your head when you see the number.

The first number up is 81.

For me it's always been Art Monk.
During the 80s when the Skins were a power it always seemed like monk was the clutch player making first downs for them.

Sadly, the first one I think of is Terrell Owens, because it seems like he's always in the news and I'm sick of it. [face_frustrated] Can't stand him.

Terrell Owens, for better or worse, is the first player that I think of when I see #81.

Yep... R...J got mine. He's currently in the news again based on the speculation of going to the 'Skins, so I've seen his number on all of the SportsCenter cuts for the last two days, unfortunately. :p

I've thankfully missed that news over the last couple of days.

I haven't missed it nearly as much as I'd like over the years, though.

Thankfully Shananhan's putting a public kibosh on those rumors.

And yet, sadly, if I had to choose between TOOL and a confirmed bigot like Larry Johnson, my choice would have been TO.

My first thought was my little brother who had that number all throughout ice hockey growing up. Then my brain reversed the numbers to get a pro athlete and I got Peyton Manning. [face_blush]

There seems to be somewhat of a consensus about 81 being connected with TO and most of us not being happy about that :p

One of the (very) few things I'll go with Skip Bayless on is calling him Team Obliterator [face_laugh]

he didn't have much of a job to do in buffalo. wasn't much of a team to obliterate up there. really hasn't been since the jim kelly, andre reed, thurman thomas, and bruce smith days. sadly.

honestly, i don't really remember him doing much of anything last year. his numbers were pretty bad, and he didn't make many headlines. was rather an off year, by all of his standards.

Marginally better... though the first thing I think of with Randy Moss is his leaving the field early in Minnesota.

Eeth says that anyone can pick new numbers to keep the thread going :) I'll update the thread title to reflect new ones.

So for the next one... let's say... number 18. Who do you think of first?

I hesitated to pick 18 since I figured Peyton would be the common answer :p

    You never know, though.

Oh, its definitely Peyton for me, no question about it.

    Gotta agree, it's Manning.

I'll pick the next number as I'm pretty sure what the answer's going to be.

    #24
