    Dave. I love it!

Cozmic and meat eaters, I'll bring a notebook along with me just to write down preferences for people. Those that have specialised orders will go on the notebook, but tbh, when it comes the basic stuff, buying in bulk is probably the best way.

Don't forget we need to buy another disposable BBQ for us carnivores too.

I know, but for most of us it's a matter of, "Hey look, a big pack of 50 beef burgers, totally cheap." *YOINK* :p

Ouch. Wasp stings are nasty :(

I'll keep Iceland in mind. I'm not overly familar on how close we will be to one of their stores though. In this I defer to Suzi :p

Right guys - i should be getting to Newcastle around 11am on Saturday - so if i can ditch my bag with the rest that would be teh awesome.

Who is bringing Triv btw? I'm sure Si wants to lose again. win back his crown?

Also - meat, i'll be back from Sunderland roundabout 3:30-4pm i reckon - but i'd like some real meat, that is to say none of this famby crappy 50 burgers for 20pence lark, :p I'm uite happy to therefore pay 'over the odds' and ensure all of us get some good quality meat as well - i.e. if you guys wanna buy birdseye burgers, do it and i'll pay the makeweight. Or you can wait till I turn up before you do the shopping?

There's no Iceland in Ncle, the nearest one's in Gateshead...there are plenty of butchers in the Grainger Market, there's one of those cheapo freezer places, there's also M&S and Fenwicks too, so you meat eaters should be fine.

I have the OT Trivial Pursuit board game, so if someone wants to bring updated questions from the newer Trivial Pursuit, then go ahead.

That's fine. Anywhere that does burgers is fine by me.

And Ven, no problem if you wanna get the good stuff. Just as long as everyone is OK with it and stumps up their equal share.

Was just saying i'd be happy to plump in the lion share to make sure we get the good stuff if no one has a problem with that!

I'm happy if everyone else is. It's a good idea to get the good stuff, since you don't want the burgers drying out on the bbq [face_peace]

Aye. Economy burgers are all well and good at a festival, but for us, we deserve the good stuff :p

No Dave, you just need to buy meat (or whatever) on Sat (I presume you're joining us for a wander during the day?). I'll be getting all the other basic stuff (crisps/dips/buns etc) and we'll split the bill for that on Sat.

it's actually quite easy to tell. hornets have a red skull-like mark in the middle of their torsos (or what passes for a torso when you're an insect), wasps don't have that. i think neither will sting unless provoked (but then you hardly notice if you provoke them) and the hornets in our garden were usually so shy, they wouldn't let me watch them.

I think I'm probably going to be arriving a bit later than 11am. When was everyone planning on getting their food shopping done?

Well wouldn't it be best to wait till most of us meet up?
What time would you be getting in?

Well I know that, I have been reading the thread :p

I just wanted to work out how many there would be there in the morning and weather it was worth taking the lead and doing the shop in your absence [face_peace]

Aye. If we do the shopping when I arrive, though, there'll be less time for the burgers etc to defrost. (Which is either good or bad, not sure yet) :p

It would be easier to cook the meats once defrost, saves time. Also if we have chicken drumsticks, we'll need to pre-cook them too.

Just thinking, Suzi do you have separate bbq tools for the meat cooking?

How's this for a wacky and crazy plan...!

Those of us who can, meet at Ncle station at 11.15am. I will arrive with Martina, collect everyone's bags and then be back in town about an hour later. You all head into town and I'll text you when I'm back in and catch up with you.

Meeting at Ncle train station (11.15am):

    Suzi
    Martina
    Ven
    Coz
    Dave
    Leigh

I'll wait outside the station, where the taxi's are.

Those who are coming in later (i.e. Sie) text one of us when you get into Newcastle and we'll all meet up.

I suggest you buy the meat just before we leave Ncle to save carrying it around and if you buy from the butchers or a chiller cabinet, there shouldn't be any need to defrost it.

I'd say we'll get back to mine for about 5pm at the latest (my BBQ will take about an hour to heat before I can cook anything on it).

Ven: Text one of us when you get out of the footie and we'll let you know where we are.

Coz: no I don't have separate tools, so good thinking- I should be able to improvise ;)

Jase and Debs: I'll text you when we're on our way back to mine.

Spike_T: I'll pick you up as per my PM if you're OK with that, so just text me when you're on your way.

It also may be worth people bringing a jumper/cardi (or whatever) in case it gets a bit chilly later on, as I don't have any outdoor heating.

Does all of this sound OK????
