Post Celebration Europe ... so what's next for FF Europe people?

I have a feeling there are plenty of people (myself included) who went away not wanting the great weekend to end.

So that's two, are there any other European based conventions coming soon where we can meet up?

 

Ooh, Reunion happens right before my birthday. But I think I'll just miss it and save up for JediCon.

 

First, I'm going to scream at my bank balance until the numbers rise up again. Then I have no idea. Maybe Jedi Con, future job permitting.

 

£120 return (incl. taxes) - Air France, Manchester to Paris ... 1hr 30 mins away ...

*starts packing*

Oh, and I have a Dusseldorf guidebook and am learning German now too

 

Jedi-Con seem most likely for me, unless I get a lot of money between now and Reunion.

 

The Reunion clashes with Collectormania12 so I have to pick C12 I'm afraid as there's a small chance I might be stalling out for that one.

Jedi-Con 2008 is a must for me so I hope to defo be there!!

But why cant Jedi-Con get them self an Englishes web page or is it only me that haven't found it yet? I don't think there were one last time.
Don't they want international visitors?

Jedi Con is the most likely the I can make, though I'll have to see later this year.

 

I'll probably have a translation exam in Fabruary, so maybe I'll translate the Jedi-Con page before that for practice
(I should totally have them pay me for that if I do )

 

I won't have enough money for both. So most probably, I'll go to the Jedi-Con.

 

Aren't the Jedi-Con guys working with Showmasters now as well? I think prior to C:E being announced there was plans for a UK-based JediCon - it might happen next year still!

 

Well next year we've got Jedi-Con, we got the JC meeting in Vegas. So enough to look forward to.

 

Not sure on that one Ven. Showmasters were meant to be doing CE but pulled out a few months ago, but they are working with a German-based group for Ring-Con, which is a Lord of the Rings convention.
Jedi-Con is organised by the official German Fan Club and is a kind of semi-official Lucasfilm show once again.

 

Ahh - somewhere in my head RingCon and JediCon were related.

It could just be the name!

 

I'll post a few more upcoming UK based conventions below later on today, so anyone interested in visiting old blighty knows what's on. I've got to do the MK Collectormania. It's tradition now

 

I went to the London Film & Comic Con last year. It was pretty good. I might go again this year.

Not sure about MK, been enough times, stayed over the last two times (crewed for SM one of those) and not sure what it has to offer me anymore. I'd go to Glasgow Collectormania but there is a FF-UK North by Northwest meet the same weekend.

 

Maybe that meet should be held in Glasgow, Tim!

 

Well, for me, it's a case of Jewel Staite being at MK, and the fact that I've already been to Paris, and Reunion doesn't look to be as well planned as Jedi-Con, from what I can see.

 

Well if we can move the whole Mathew Street Festival up to Glasgow, then I'm game
