Hey! What did I say about 'ski jumps' for women? Two medals: silver and bronze! :)

Entil`Zha: If the canadian curling teams win, we'll go cheer for them at the airport when they return and check out the cute players! Right? ;)

I wouldn't mind going there with you, only one problem; will they arrive in Dorval? Most of them are from Alberta I think...

:( Oh... Well, you've destroyed all my dreams now, cbjedi! Hope you're happy! :_|

    [face_laugh]

No, it's all right, I'll survive this dissapointment!

Seriously, good for them! I'm sure it must be interesting to play even if it's not an action-packed-must watch sport (IMHO).

Actually, it reminds me of shuffleboard (anybody know this game?) that I played in Florida when I visited my grandparents. It was kind of fun!

Today heralds a new dawn for British Winter Olympians! :D

    A Gold/Silver in the curling, and a Bronze in the face-first-tea-tray-sliding! :D

Hooorah for us!! :D (us as in GBR, not us as in US)

    ;) ;) ;)

No! That's not true! That's impossible! Canada + curling = gold!

    PPOR. Women's curling or men's?

I think you guys are just bitter about us being independant. :p ;)

PPOR - I have no idea what this means ?[face_plain]

It was of course the GBR women, the men fell by the wayside long ago! :D

Independent? I thought you still had part shares in our Queen! :p ;)

Are you doubting my word as an Englishman?

Quite right! They say the sun never set on the British Empire, because nobody trusted the Brits in the dark!! [face_devil]

Here's your proof. Read it and weep! [face_mischief] ;)

Kidding. I believe you. This sucks. I was expecting gold. :(

I'm not au'fait(sp?) with the world of curling, but I get the impression we were not expecting Gold... or Silver. :)

Can you believe it? Two Winter Olympic medals for GBR!

This makes us, as a nation, chuckle. We don't even have a curling rink (Is it a rink?) in Britain. :D

I guess we'll have to build one now. [face_plain]

//mumbles to himself about the cost of such frivolity//

With Canada playing Belarus, it is almost a sure bet Canada will be playing for the GOLD.

I know I shouldn't "speak so soon", but Belarus was never suppose to win the last game. The odds of them doing that again are very slim.

(Now, I hope I wont be eating my words after.)

Belarus winning gold in hockey is like Jamaica winning gold in bobsled. It just doesn't happen. But, they got this far...

Then again, it was a fluke. The puck hit the Swedish goalie in the mask, bounced off, and went in while he was dazed.

Yeah but still... they help Sweden up to the last 3 minutes... the game was tied 3-3. If Salo had been ready to receive that shot, the outcome might have been different though.

Just remember that Belarus managed to do something our heroes weren't able to do; contain Sweden and stay in the game.

Still I say go for the gold guys!

Do not underestimate the power of some unknown country that is probably a tiny fragment of the Soviet Union.

The ability to defeat Sweden is insignificant next to the power of Team Canada. :D

I said fragment of the Soviet Union, Woofer. As in a country that was formed when the USSR collapsed. One of those ones with a puppet government and nobody outside the country (including their neighbours) knows the country exists. :p ;)

Totally. We've been getting penalties while killing another off, for Sith's sake!

If we could just stay out of the box, we'd be wiping the floor with them. Oh, my mistake... WE ALREADY ARE!!!

Who says chicks can't play hockey? I've never seen the men's team play so aggressively.
