Hey all. Just wanted to let you all know I can check the boards more frequently now. I can check them on my phone when away from home. Finally getting hang of the keyboard. Replies to tags should come faster. Yay! I'm so tech savy now that I did this post from my phone. :p

Ok. My post is up. I just did a combined post for Taab and Atin because my head is all "fuzzy" from a nasty sinus infection I woke up with this morning. Hopefully the delivery will be completed soon, so Taab can get the balance of his payment and be on his way to the Mercs/KoJ!

Well, the combined character post is the format that I am used to, so it reads more naturally for me.

    Great posting, everyone.

Bravo, you bad man, taking out the Javin Bucket like that. I was surprised to see Soal pop up on the Darkest Night. My recall, though I could not swear to which star destroyer of the three, was that Soal left the Block in one Star Destroyer on his own mission, leaving the Imperial Justice and another SD to arrive at the Red Rock location by themselves. I must have confused the DN with the Terminator.

Mitth, a good post, but poem-form was a odd way to go about it. Rhymed, and when it didn't, it took a while for me accept that it wasn't, rather than feeling jarred.

I got lost as to what was happening some way into it, but you clarified in the last two verses. Nice raid.

I am caught so I am! I read 'Twas the Night Before Christmas and then wrote it. I felt it was a grand experiment, and when it wouldn't work I just left it as is. So sorry Sith that left it jarring in places.

Still. . .I had fun with it ;)

Fress, based on where she is at, probably won't find out for a bit.

Hope you all had a great holiday. Soo, talked to Bravo....ummm...yeah..phone post....not going to happen again until key board and time are on his side. He said he will clarify the post Saturday if needed. If not...I guess I am packing people in a shuttle as tight as sardines....yes....that sounds like a good plan! :)

Bravo's phone post was okay for me to formulate a response to, already thinking of my response.

He has no need to clarify anything as far as Perez is concerned.

Coffee, Stakes instructions were to create a perimeter around the fort, so you are using at least two shuttles. Or enough to do the VTOL (Vertical Take-off and Landing) equivalent of a wagon train.

Once I know what craft the rescue team are taking, I can commandeer four of the remaining shuttles as the reserve evac flight, and however many I need to fit a platoon of Kings Army when Perez crosses to a wrecked battleship.

    ****

Okay, I don't know if we are going to have enough shuttles/transports to go around.

King-class battleship stats show it normally carries:

    6 Theta-class T-2c shuttles
"Royal Command" assigned Battleships replace two of the shuttles with Aka'jor-class shuttles

    3 Sentinel-class landing craft

    3 Low Altitude Assault Transport/carrier

    I'm using bits of one Sentinel to patch that hole in the DD, knocking that down to 2;
Streets or Vacks took an Aka'jor to the SoJ, and at least one transferred the Royal Command to her, so current numbers probably are:

    6 Theta-class T-2c shuttles

    2+ Aka'jor-class shuttles

    2 Sentinel-class landing craft

    3 Low Altitude Assault Transport/carrier

The LAAT/c's don't have cabins of their own, but carry vehicles, and the only one which can carry multiple people is the AT-OT, which for some reason is open topped, so transporting people between an orbitting ship and the ground, they are going to have to be in vacsuits.

    ****

I am going to be left behind on the internal ship visualising, so this is the Delicate Delinquent's stairwell at the rear of the bridge, giving access to the rest of the tower, and the ship:

    HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Seeing the New Year in with a bottle of Stella Artois, and an awesome 15-minute firework display over the River Thames in London. Now watching Jools Hootenany featuring lots of new and old musical performers.
Normally live music is like kryptonite to me, but I'm sitting through it on this special occassion.

When midnight rolls around for you, how are you celebrating?

    Happy New Years all! :D

I'll be catching up in the game when mid-night rolls around here in 2 hours and 15 minutes. Don't really go crazy over the New Year anymore...use to years ago (4 or 5 years ago), but now just wait for the new year to come. Eh, it works. ;)

    Falcon, why no sleep?

Got that post up for you and Coffee, Falcon. Hope you like. Was talking to Coffee about it in the car today.

I'm going to be changing a few non-essential things on the King II-class Battleship when it comes to ground forces. Want it to be more "free" of traditional Star Wars weaponry in some ways, but not all.

Two tags in tonight on my end. Looking good.

I am in communication with a RPF Manager about locking our old Library Thread here, so I can create a new one. With the post fracture problem not fixed still, I don't want to risk adding to the thread, just to see it all erased away when the problems are fixed.

The new Library Thread will be scaled down greatly, gathering the highlights of information and data for the game, while pointing the majority of the questions and data collection of the game to our Library Wiki that CPL is working tirelessly on.

    Special Edit
    King-II Class Battleship

The full details of the King-II class Battleship can be found on page 45 of the Rocketjock. I plan on adding this edit to the new library thread as well.

Nothing will be changing, other then the complement, which will be edited in the new format below.

Please take note of the new Heavy Armored Personnel Carrier ("HAP" for short). These are based off of the "Crawler" vehicles used in the 1998 American movie "Soldier" staring Kurt Russell. While I couldn't find specific details on the "Crawler"'s complete weaponry, I complied a list of sources to help identify weapon hard-points using the trailer, movie, and photos. Then, using Star Wars technology, I've converted the "Crawler" into the Star Wars Galaxy, but retained the Crawler's same look, just with SW weapons and armor capabilities.

In the movies, the "Crawler" seems to have heavy armor and, all but being rammed by another "Crawler" or destroyed from the inside with multiple grenades, seems immune to small-arms fire. Maybe a heavy rocket can provide some damage, but it seems from the movie, that the "Crawler" can stand up to a lot of different types of weaponry.

    Using the following movie trailer,

Look at 1:58 for a forward machine gun on the front railing of the "Crawler" vehicle.

    Using the following movie,

Look at 1:12:27 for 5 rocket tubes on the "Crawler" vehicle. I could assume these rocket tubes are on the other side of the vehicle as well, however I cannot find evidence to support that fact. These rockets are on the starboard side of the vehicle and I will assume, for accuracy, that there is only one set of rocket tubes on the vehicle (the starboard side).

Using photos (and other screen shots from the movie above), a large mortar of some type can be viewed on top of the second vehicle in the rear, that seems to not be retractable. However, in a earlier part of the movie, not the screen shot below, it seemed to show a smaller, more reaccessed mortar, on the top armor of the vehicle. I can assume both are applicable, but that the one shown in this photo is a special addition for specific combat roles, verses the smaller one is for standard use.

A view of the "Crawler" without the special addition of the heavy mortar seen in the above photo later in the film. The view of the "Crawler" would showcase the smaller, more recessed mortar, on-top of the vehicle firing in a action shot with this screenshot. This photo also shows the heavy double machine gun on-top of the rear of the Crawler from a front view.

Taking the following photos, movie trailer, and movie into play, I can conclude the following:
Note: Kurt Russel's character, in "Soldier" 1998, states that there are 17 more soldiers, after killing 3. This assumes that a Crawler can carry 8-9 soldiers each inside, excluding the driver (10 total including driver); if the top-side heavy turret gunner is outside by policy, then the "Crawler" can carry 8 soldiers inside, I'm assuming this, since I have not ran across hard facts on this information. Also, it is noted that "Crawlers" can be loaded up with various heavy weaponry for the ground forces, since in the final battle, Crawler 1 (I believe it the proper name) has it's troops carrying rocket-launchers, etc, including the standard rifle, carbine, heavy machine gun, and flame throwers seen carried by the soldiers throughout the whole film that get deployed by the "Crawlers".

    Weapons:

    Standard Equip:

    • 1 Twin heavy blaster turret (see picture above)

    • 5 concussion missile launch tubes (starboard side, see movie clip)
    • 1 mortar launcher (concealed, starboard top side of vehicle, recessed into the armor; see movie clip)
    Specialized Equip:

    • 1 Heavy mortar cannon, 16 rounds (reduces infantry support to 4 soldiers)

    History:

Known as HAP, short for Heavy Armored Personnel Carrier, the vehicle was the first armor design following the new armor designs for the new clone soldiers. Designed to take in a limited number of soldiers---a squad of 8 soldiers---and provide full armor support against infantry and light to medium combat vehicles. The HAP has a crew of five: 1 driver / commanding officer, 2 Gunners (for each of the heavy and medium blasters), 1 Mechanic (who also operates the spot-light and acts as a extra gunner or assists the Fire Control Officer), and 1 Fire Control Officer for the missiles and mortars. Equipped with a heavy duel blaster cannon, medium repeating blaster cannon, 5 concussion missile tubes (10 concussion missiles total), and a mortar launcher (16 rounds), the HAP can provide heavy covering fire and artillery support for any infantry unit making a hard push through a enemy position. A specialized addition of a long range mortar (16 rounds, reduces troop payload to 4 soldiers) can increase the HAP's long range artillery support, although this is not standard weaponry on a HAP. HAPs are extremely well stocked with a wide variety of weapons for it's infantry soldiers, often having on hand a small armory of Z-6 rotary blaster cannons, T-21 light repeating blasters, Model CR-24 flame rifles, and HH-15 projectile launchers, in addition of their normal small-arms weaponry.

The HAP is usually seen working with infantry units beyond what it can carry, acting as a mobile fire support base for infantry units. When in numbers of 2 or 3, HAPs can crush enemy infantry lines and light to medium combat vehicles, providing a key tactical advantage in a pitched battle. In armor formations, HAPs support infantry units, provide escort to tanks and troop transports, operate as heavy recon and scouts, and operate as rear guard elements. Heavily armored, the HAP can take a onslaught of small-arms, medium-arms, and heavy-arms blasters and projectile weapons. The armor can even handle rocket and missile launcher attacks; however, continued heavy ordinance---or a direct hit from a heavy laser cannon on a AT-AT or concussion missile---can punch through the armor.

Equipped with a respectable sensor and long-range communication suite and rations for crew and soldiers for up to a week, the HAP is well suited for long duration missions, patrols, and scouting missions in force. Additional features includes advanced chemical and biological warfare life support systems; the HAP can operate in non-breathable atmospheres (excluding vacuum) for up to 10 hours; special equipment allows the main hold and cockpit to be sealed off in different sized sections for troop deployments in such hazardous conditions, while not putting the rest of the vehicle in harms way with a hazardous environment. If life support systems are resupplied and reequipped, the HAP can stay in such hazard environments as long as needed. The HAP can operate in vacuum for up to 3 hours. Such hazardous atmospheres and vacuum limit the heavy and medium blaster cannons to less accurate remote control fire control from within the vehicle. Furthermore, when entering hazardous atmospheres, the HAP's troop payload is reduced to 3 soldiers; this is because the HAP can only handle 8 soldiers within the vehicle at once, excluding the driver, but during hazardous atmospheres, the driver is included in this count.

    X-Wings?

That planetside battle post was really well thought out, choreographed, and described, Bravo. Bonus points for the SoJ lifting for orbit after deployment.

Hope I am not annoying you with the less than military-formal behaviours on Perez' side of things. :p

    Thank you Sith. :) I like Perez's swagger. ;)

The King II always had X-Wings (see the post on page 45). If, according to Death Star (EU Novel that I still have yet to finish!), a off-shoot Rebel fraction can field 500 X-Wings in a single attack, I am assuming the X-Wing is becoming more wildly accessible to the Rebel Alliance and black market.
