There has been some talk about doing a star wars rpg game. Well I wanted to start a thread for those who are interested and and If anyone has any ideas that they want to convey about it. I will be more then happy to run a game. Just a few things crop up in my mind before i do any prep work.

how many people want to play?

Who has played role playing games before and who has not. (its quite alright if you haven't played a rpg before, I just want a gauge)

how often do we want to have a game?

    single adventures or a campaign?

What star wars era do you want to set the first game or campaign in?

    Knights of the Old Republic
clone Wars (Ep I - EpIII)
Rise of the Empire or Dark Times (between EpIII and Ep IV
    Rebellion Era (EpIV - EpVI)
    New Republic or Jedi Academy
New Jedi Order Yuuzhan Vong invasion
Legacy 100+ years in the future, I think

What kind of characters are people interested in playing?
Each character has a class (which is the profession of the character)
There are 5 basic classes: Solider, Scout, Noble, Jedi and Scoundrel.
I can put further information about in in future threads.

Let me know any thoughts or questions. I am really looking forward to running star wars again. :)

We have been tossing around the idea of doing an rpg for a while, but we're all noobs with this sort of thing, so we probably won't have many specifics for you. I, personally, would like NR-YV era. I will play whatever character is needed, but would like to be a YV, possibly a scout or something. Thanks for doing this! Not sure how often we can do so. Maybe we'll discuss this week when you're at our place.

that's cool. we can discuss at the party I can bring my books to, if you think people might like to look at them.

I can get some ideas on how often or what players would be interested in.

    see you on Friday

I'm interested in the same era, but would rather play a good-guy. Not sure what class though, would have to look those up again. Please bring your books if you can, we only have a couple at home right now.

no problem , i will bring some of my books.

I have a couple of ideas for a game but it might be easier to have a game , or the first game, in the dark times (between episode III and IV) just to get everyone used to the game and how things kind of work, that way I can also run an pre-written adventure. Then we can either continue on that story or make new characters and do a NJO continuing story.

I have ideas and outlines for full campaigns (which are a series of storys that are all related that play over several game sessions). Set in the dark times, Rebellion era, and NJO.

One really cool game one is set in the New Republic set 5 years after Episode VI. Its called the Darkstryder Campaign and the cool thing is that each person plays multiple characters, probably not a game to start with new players, but could be really fun once everyone has the basic idea. Its kind of a cross of star wars and battlestar galactic with a little farscape thrown in.

I have run star wars rpgs with different game systems, so i am not so familiar with saga, but i have read over most of the basic concepts, rpg is kind of learn the rules as you go. there is no right or wrong way to play either..

Ok i will cut myself off at this point. I could always ramble on more , i should set up a night to have people over and we can do some character creation.

my place is small, but i think i could set up a table and few chairs.

Minis and RPG forum. There are some resources for both games there. I need to work on organizing it a bit more, but it's a lower priority than others right now.

does the sunday night before labor day work for anyone. Troy had suggested we do wii and board games on labor day at his place. If i could involve Kathy with a labor day thing that would be good.

    Thanks

    That works for us.

Don't worry overly much about the first names. If it bothers someone, let me know and I'll edit it out, no big. Last names are another story ;)

So we can host RPG at our place on Sunday after minis (say 5:30-ish). Then on Labor Day Troy can host a game day. Sound good with everyone?

when do people want to get together. I am open for suggestions. This weekend is kind of bad for me. I am creating a PSA commercial and I think i need this weekend to do it.

What about the weekend of 26/27th of September?
I need to read through the emails to recall what days or weekends are bad for people.

how does the 6th or 27th work?

I am really excited to run the next game!!!

I think Troy has a game board convention that weekend, but maybe that Sunday would work?

I think that the 26th or 27th evenings would work for me. Into Oct. will be hard for me with work.
