Asia Satr Wars in Asia

Hi, I'm from South Korea. I am a new star wars fan, and I'm waiting for AOTC to be in the theatres. We have AOTC here in July!!!

 

I'm Australian born Chinese and I visited my relatives in China two and a half years ago n no one seemed to have a clue about what star wars even was. but they did have the OT (Original Trilogy) on VCD, and there was no dubbing, it's subtitled. I suppose it's just in the rural areas that no one's heard of SW, though, because they had plenty of merchandise and toys in Guangzhou.
I've tried to get my cousins into it, but they weren't easily swayed, even though I had 5 whole weeks to try.

 

How did the swaying go?

I just noticed the spelling in the title of this thread. Was it intentional?

we seriously need more asian fans, mate. geez.

 

There are a lots my friend. They just don't come to this board. Japan have quite an active group (they are the only one in Asia to have a 501st Stormtrooper Garrison) while Malaysia and Philippines fans are mostly concentrated around the Capital City. Taiwan SW Fans are starting to appear slowly too.

My side's board also getting less active cause most members are in school and tests coming.

 

I supposed they don't come here because of the language problems... I still feel more natural speaking Chinese.

Not really in my country.

People here are always Kiasu which is considered as quite insane. Lining up for National Day ticket, McDonald Hello Kitty Dolls, Flats, roles in Plays etc etc, most at least 24 hours in advanced!. I haven't been able to get tickets to the NDP for almost a decade now cause I cannot line up days in advance at the distribution centre like other locals.

Well, maybe it's because your relatives are from China so they are more sane than the locals in my country.

 

Darth Eagle is right Singaporean people are INSANE in away. Trust me. I'm from there.

 

That's what differentiate us from others. I wouldn't mind queing up 24 hrs for the release of say Star Wars EP 3 premier in 2005, would u?

Haahaa, there are not only the Imperial Navy but also Bounty Hunters and Jedis.

And the Bounty Hunter population is gonna fluctuate within 1-2 years.

That sound great! Increase the no. of Stormtroopers Outposts/Garrison in Asia from 1 to 3.

There're plans for an Outpost here for quite some time too but still in the planning stage. Someone's rear need to get kick really hard soon!
