Speculation scoundrels in the sequels

Please no Force user top-heaviness.
Give us some interesting non force-users.
Have Han have an apprentice smuggler or something.
I love force-users and all but not to the exclusion of all else.

 

Star Wars IS the Force, and Lightsabers.

Anything else is just filler.

 

Those are important and all but the galaxy is so much more than the Force and the lightsabers. Rebels, Imperials, Bounty Hunters, Smugglers, other criminals, droids, Clones, Separtists, Mandos, starfighter pilots etc.
Its very important that humans and the other non force-sensitive aliens are well represented.
Show the differences between how both sides get the job done.

This time around, I'd like to see a scoundrel more along the lines of Hondo Onaka from TCW. Someone with a slightly humorous persona, but who can also be a sly, devious character. Another comparison that comes to mind in regards to this sort of character is Bruce Campbell's Autolycus, The King Of Thieves from Hercules/Xena the TV series. A combination of both hero and villain. Those kinds of characters--if written and acted well--can provide for limitless directions in which to take a story.

 

I'm guessing there will be at least a couple in the main characters.

 

What a boring Star Wars that would be. Fortunately, it aint true.

 

Here Here! I think one of the reasons the prequels suffered was the lack of scoundrels 'with a good blaster at their side.'

 

Yeah. Need some good space battle action. It is STAR WARS after all.

 

Yes. I always found it odd that we have fans in the "lightsabers/Force only" camp and others in the "space battles only" camp. Star Wars has always been best when it delicately balances the two.
