London, ON Spring celebration 2010

This event does not look like it will happen unless we find a lot of people to volunteer at it.

I've posted this on facebook to try and get people to volunteer.
"Well it seems that there is not enough volunteers to do this spring celebration in the park. If anyone wants to help out to keep this event going please volunteer a little of your time. It would be a shame to see this not happen. It has grown from 125 people the first year to around 500 in the second year. An event of that size needs a lot of people, even if it's for an hour or two."

We just can't handle the volume of people that come out. The way that it is scheduled has to change, running al those different events can't happen. I had hoped that we could have in cluded other groups so that each group runs 1 event all day but that doesn't seem to be working.

I still have a few more ideas that I'm working on to make this happen, but if anyone would like to share their ideas we could use the help.

 

Robert you can count me in and I am sure I can convince Joe and Christine to help of course. Just post a time and date for it. I would hate to see the celebration get cancelled this year considering the 30th anniversary of Empire Strikes back, that would be poor indeed!

If anyone knows someone Volunteer needed!
Looking for someone to do graphic design work. We need a volunteer to make flyers and certificates. You just have to make one master copy and the club will pay to have them coppied. Unless your feeling generous and would like to pay for them.

Ok everyone.

It seems the best date for the celebration is Saturday May 8th. The same as last year, 1 week after free comic book day and the day before Mother's day. The farmers alminac says above average temp around 13 and below average rain.

Are we making flyers to hand out at all this year? Or going to the park for a few weeks?

 

Any word on FM96 for this year?

 

Yep Taz wants us back on FM 96. It will be 1 person from our group, 1 from starfllet london division and 1 from anime london.

Also we could do a walk in the park on Sunday May 2nd from 11:00 to 1:00. if anyone wants to go.

 

I can go to the park at noon. I'm playing bells in church for the 11:00 service, but I can leave when we're done. Who's going for the Starfleet rep, and who's going for our rep on FM96?

 

Chris and I have a birthday party in the afternoon. How about 4:00 PM?

 

4 pm is much better, then I actually have time to get ready.

 

I'll be there as a Jedi this time. We can meet at the train station again.

 

There's an extra meeting Thursday night 6:00 PM. Everything has to be loaded up for Saturday.

 

I need someone to lend a hand to pull out my trailer for the AT-ST. I'm going to need a couple of hours to get it ready for Thursday so the sooner the better.

 

I'm off work for the next two days, but because my shoulder is so painful I can't work, so I don't think I'd be any help. Hopefully I can get some sewing done though.

 

That's ok Chris is coming over to lend a hand.

 

Did anyone record the news last night? Granite didn't get the right show on the PVR, so I didn't see it.

And let me just say. You know your getting old when you see yourself on TV and your thinking who is that? Then it hits you, you've become old.

 

One of my co-workers said she saw me on the news on Saturday.
