That wedding scene should have been longer IMO.

The wedding scene should have been half the movie. :D

In other news, Australian Empire's Star Wars issue is out! Awesome stuff ... I've got the cover with Mace and Obi-Wan.

I think it might have one extra track (The Conveyor Belt). Not sure about that, though.

You get shot twice. So, is the Mac destroying feature standard for Sony soundtracks, or is it an LFL addition? :D

Something awful happened last nite. In a wild frenzy to record a classic film (Ferris Buellers Day Off) I taped over my tv3 copy of ESB. What is a boy to do?!?! You cant imagine the anger I was in this morning when I found out, it rivals the slaying of the sandpeople scene. SO I then proceeded to skip uni today & watch Ferris, classic, just classic

Anyone out there taht loves Star Wars please dub me a copy. Email me at damien.lay@xtra.co.nz if u have kindness in ur heart.

    Cheers.

You can buy yourself a copy at Real Groovy on Queen St for about $14.95.

BTW, I love Ferris B's day off. Especially the street dancing scene :)
I skipped uni today too. It's disgusting in Auckland ... rain, hail, wind ... it's almost like wellington :D

a few CD's that I have aquired of late have a sticker saying something in german (or some wird language.) Basically it says:

    "Will not play in PC/Mac."

I guess it's a sony thing, not a SW soundtrack thing as such.

It's amazing the amount of time and money these companies invest in TRYING to copy protect stuff - a complete waste since it's usually "cracked" within days (at most) anyway. [face_plain]

They should spend all the money they use trying to copy protect stuff on policing the people that copy to sell the copies!!(does that make sense?) I have an MP3 player and most of the stuff I listen to is from cd's I have bought, and put onto my PC to upload to my player (ok to be honest I have a few tracks that have been downloaded), I would be happy to pay a reasonable cost for songs I want to download instead of paying $20 - $30 for a CD that has a few good tracks and a lot of bad music.

that's fair enough. Then you can pay for individual songs and get the mixes you want on your CD and the sons you like from an artist.

Yep. Once one version is cracked it's on the net & wild to download. At worst an analogue copy of any audio can be made & digitised within an hour. Copy protection delayes songs getting to the web by a few hours at best.

Taking down the providers (napster et al) is much more productive, but the best idea is running public awareness campaigns, which in all fairness they are doing in NZ with the Burn & Get Burnt promotion.

those jerks! what about the people who use their computers to play music? I sit at my compter all day at work and always have a CD playing? I use my Mac far more than I ever use my stereo.

Those record company jerks have spent years trying every method possible to get people to hear their music, either by bribing radio stations, advertising etc. and then a technology comes along which makes music available to everyone, and they get the heebie-jeebies and start clamping down on it. Jeeze ... from what i've read Napster actually increased CD sales. For the first time people could actually hear music before they bought it. Esp. here, where the Record Companies don't release or distribute a lot of bands/albums. If you're going to pay $50.00 for an import or order off the 'net, you should at least be able to hear something beforehand.

    I'm ranting, aren't I?

They're not jerks. They're trying to protect their business. So would any other industry in a similar circumstance.

CD sales have been declining for a number of years. While a certain amount of people are certainly encouraged to buy an album afer downloading & sampling songs, that's by far and away the minority. Almost all people download songs because they want a copy, and don't want to pay for them. It's perceived as a victimless crime and next to impossible to be prosecuted for doing it.

It's unfortunate that renegade technology moves faster than legitimate, in this instance.
