Am auzit ca pentru $39 pe zi, poti sa vorbesti live cu George Lucas. Cand voi fi sigur, va scriu aici adresa mea postala, sa imi trimiteti banii. De restul ma ocup eu

Doar gandeste-te cati oameni ar vrea sa vorbeasca live cu Lucas......Mi, poate chiar zeci de mii. Presupun ca sunt acolo mai multi oameni, printre care si Lucas care doar da indicatii

 

Mai, nu stiu cum e cu altii, dar eu am vorbit de mai multe ori cu Lucas, si nu oricum, ci la telefon. Si m-a sunat el pe mine, nu eu pe el. A fost chiar dragut din partea lui, avand in vedere ca are destui bani ca sa nu se uite la cateva impulsuri, acolo. Chiar acum o jumatate de ora mi-a zis, printre altele, ca in 2008 va incepe pre-productia la Episodul VII. Din pacate, n-a vrut sa-mi spuna care va fi titlul filmului, dar mai insist eu data viitoare.
Jur pe bicepsii lui Luke ca tot ce spun e adevarat.
Oricum, suntem off topic. Cred ca ar trebui sa deschidem un topic separat, in care fiecare din cei care au avut norocul sa vorbeasca cu Lucas, sa le poata impartasi si celorlalti din aceste experiente. Oricum, tot ce scriem aici in romaneste, nu va pricepe nimeni, asa ca secretul ramane intre noi.

Episode III:

REVENGE OF THE CGI...

It is a dark period for LucasFilm. All sources have been
plundered. No one is buying the mythic Joseph Campbell
crap anymore. The unhip with The Force masses still expect
decent writing and actors to act. The situation has become
intolerable.

George Lucas, from his hyberbaric lair at Skywalker Ranch
devises a bold plan that will even irritate the most loyal
squirming fanboy: To do whatever the hell he was going to do
anyway...




PAN DOWN to reveal the planet Bryce-3D of the Lightwave system.
CGI robots run around aimlessly, shooting each other and themselves in the head. A monsterous roar fills the THX sound system, with no adequately explained reason. Transport ships swoop down with a ear-splitting renting of the air, some of them crashing with wicked big explosions, some of them exploding in the air for no reason at all. CGI battle bots form a conga line and then explode. More CGI creatures appear from nowhere and begin humping each other and then shoot each other. Then they explode into little pieces. Then the little pieces explode. Some of the action is ripped off from every science fiction battle ever filmed, but the publicity department will make classy allusions to Heironymous Bosch.

This goes on for at least ten minutes, although it seems longer.

Little known Star Wars facts:

- The character of Han Solo was originally to be called 'Malachy Magopaleen' but Lucas changed it at the last minute when Harisson Ford punched him in the testicles.

- All Ewoks from Return of the Jedi were burnt to death at the end of shooting. Sadly some dwarves were unable to remove their costumes and perished in searing agony.

- Carrie Fisher once got roasted by Chewbacca and Lando Calrissian on the roof of the Millenium Falcon.

- In his school reports Lucas was called a 'weakly skulker' by teachers. Scribbling that down on a piece of paper he re-arranged the letters and came up with the name 'Luke Skywalker'. He was unable to do anything with the phrase 'Must work harder, the beardy *****.'

- The US government under Ronald Reagan was well known for its 'Star Wars' defence program but not many people realise they've been building a real life Death Star on the dark side of the moon.

- Every single storm trooper was gay.

- Former Irish footballer Paul McGrath played bounty hunter Bobba Fett in the new series of films but he was digitally replaced by a completely different actor after he kept turning up on set eating kebabs. George Lucas is violently allergic to red cabbage.

- Jabba the Hutts character was based on how Karen Carpenter saw herself when she looked in the mirror.

- Yoda said "Fear is the path to the dark side". Other paths to the dark side include religion, not drinking enough alcohol, Damien Rice and capers.

Is it possible to drive a Podracer at 900 mph or more without a windshield or face mask? Could you survive a 50-foot fall into a snow bank like Luke Skywalker? Can you avoid freezing to death in a blizzard overnight by gutting a dead animal like a tauntaun and getting into its carcass?
It's these types of burning questions that keep some fans up at night, especially those who debunk urban legends and movie myths for a living. Each week special-effects experts Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman, and their talented build team, take on urban legends and use modern-day science to see what's real and what's not in "MythBusters" on the Discovery Channel.

Often using themselves as the test subjects -- unless it's too dangerous, then their crash test dummy "Buster" gets the honors -- the team sets up scientific experiments to test each part of the myth and tally the evidence at the end. Based on their experiments along with other documented evidence, they then pronounce the myth busted, plausible, or confirmed.


In past episodes, the "MythBusters" cast members have tested such urban legends as dropping pennies from skyscrapers onto pedestrians below, surviving being buried alive in a coffin, jumping from freefalling elevators, and the ultimate dare -- eating and drinking large quantities of Pop Rocks and cola to see if their stomachs would explode. They've also challenged famous movie myths such as sharks destroying boats in Jaws, death by gold paint in Goldfinger, yanking the rear axle clear out from under the car when it drives off as in American Graffiti and jumping from an airplane using an inflatable life raft to land in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.

"The word 'science' in science fiction is the key here," Hyneman explains. "Sci-fi enthusiasts like to think about the future and its implications to present society and culture. On the show we deal with a lot of these same elements. I think in general the show and science fiction is intended to be thought provoking. Much on television and in the popular media is mindless. But some people, like our viewers, actually enjoy using their minds."

"That aesthetic of the Star Wars universe: the do-it-yourself, hotrod ethic that George Lucas exported from his childhood, is exactly the same kind of soul behind what we do and build for the show," Savage explains. "It may not look pretty, but it gets the job done."


However, long before "MythBusters" debuted in 2003, Savage, Hyneman -- as well as two of their build team members Grant Imahara and Tory Belleci -- worked at Industrial Light & Magic on various films including the Star Wars prequels, as well as other noteworthy films such as A.I., Terminator 3, Starship Troopers, Galaxy Quest and Van Helsing.

Savage worked for ILM in the model shop for nearly five years building ships and miniature sets for The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones, as well as working on over a hundred commercials and two features for Hyneman when he ran the shop at Colossal Pictures, and later for Hyneman's own San Francisco Bay Area company, M5 Industries -- where the majority of "MythBusters" episodes are filmed.

"I arrived at ILM during the final push to finish Episode I, and it was like going to heaven," Savage recalls. "A shop full of some of the best people I've ever had the honor to work with. I was lucky enough to spend a few weeks at Skywalker Ranch working on pre-production models for Episode II. Given that it was one of the first jobs I ever wanted to have, it was pretty cool to get a chance to participate."

"Adam, Grant and Tory have worked at ILM for some years," Hyneman adds. "I worked there on one job with Grant and we became friends. Adam and Tory had worked with me or for me before then and, in fact, Adam got his first work in the field when I hired him over a decade ago. I found ILM a great place to work and that there were
