The Photo Ops thing at the bottom of the page sounds pretty cool.

So this is the third thread I've read this morning. I'm beginning to see a pattern to X's posts.

Managed to watch the pilot episode this weekend,
and tho I thought it started weak, and had some plot points,
I really do not want to see,
it eventually killed off those plot points, and stabelized,
and the longer the show went on the better and better the focus and
    story seemd to be.

Looks like I will be hanging on to my GDO:D

I was not on an upbeat after watching the pilot. SG-1 and SGA all had a clear protagonist the first episode, while SGU has turned out to be the man v. nature story.

After finally seeing the "2nd" episode (actually the last hour of the pilot) it came together a bit better for me.

Now after having a few episodes out (watching each one as they air, of course), I was able to go hit Hulu and watch them all back-to-back. I highly recommend doing this! The story became much more rich for me watching it all together. It's destiny.

    I give it a big thumbs-up!

Yeah, I wouldn't call it the most interesting thing on TV, but it definitely keeps your attention for 40 minutes.

Well then, what's your favorite show on the air currently? (Excluding shows on hiatus/between seasons.)

When does SG:U come back? They left it on one heck of a cliffhanger!

It's always hard answering this question because I have about 15 shows that I watch at any given time and they all kinda blend together.

If I had to pick the first show that came to mind when I read the question, it would be 24. Somehow this show causes me to suspend my disbelief like no other and ache for the resolution to cliffhanger episodes every week.

What I meant by SG:U not being the "most interesting thing on TV" was the characters. There really is no villain in the series other than the characters, so the writers are forced to show good and bad sides of each character. It seems no one is fully good; just when you begin to think they have some moral integrity, they are revealed to be a cheater, a spy, a killer, a psycho, etc...

It has a lot in common with BSG, but BSG had the benefit of Cylons to vilify.

That is an awesome win! This happens with many books I read, and when I find a television series that has the same effect I am overjoyed.

Absolutely. Since it began I've always contended it was the classic Conflict narrative - specifically Man v. Nature.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conflict_(narrative)#Character_vs._Nature

It's always easier to see the bad guys when they wear black.

I have to admit I did like the lack of absolute morality in BSG, but that's because the series was so well done overall. I usually prefer a more black/white world in my entertainment. For example, I hate movies that have no clear ending (No Country For Old Men), or too much ambiguity in the characters. I watch TV, movies, etc. to be entertained and escape reality, not to watch reality presented on screen. Bleh.

Kind of a cheesy way they re-introduced Dr. Rush. I was hoping the suspense would hold out longer.
