[TECH] First Hotmail, now Gmail?

I just tried to sign up a sock using my gmail and I haven't got the email yet. This has been about 20 minutes or so. I then tried to have the 'forgot your password' thing using my gmail, with similar results. Thinking Gmail might be temporarily down, I sent myself a Gmail message. I got it immediately.

So does IGN's server not like Gmail in the same way it doesn't like Hotmail then?

I registered a 'sock' not too long ago, using my gmail acount, didn't have any problems.

 

The mail server is probably down, that's all.

 

The e-mail server seems to go down quite frequently. Either that, or it just happens to be down two out of every three times I request a password or make a sock.

 

Gmail, according to my buddy who works at Google, occasionally has lapses of six hours or so.

It's not uncommon, so it may not be an issue YET.

On the other hand, it may be; we should definitely watch this one's career with great interest...

This has caught me before... I couldn't log on all evening, yet my friends with gmail accounts could. *shrug*

 

If you put us in your contacts list, it should avoid the spam-mail protection that hotmail and google and others use.
