Jailbroke my iPhone a few weeks ago

 

I've never felt like i needed to jailbreak. I am fine with how the standard iOS does things.

 

I basically got bored with it-been using pretty much the same OS since 2007, after all. Just decided it was time to tinker...and now my phone is like some mutant android-running(widgets) ipad (more multitouch gestures)
I am really curious to see what Ives brings to ios now that he's in charge of human interface and hardware design.

 

Yes, Ives will do wonderful things.

I don't really have a smartphone... it's just a phone. So normal and commonplace for people to have that there's no reason to create a separate category. It's my phone.

 

Yeah, that's how I view it as well. I think "smartphones" as a category might be going away in a decade or so, though-tablets and wearable devices like Glass are more powerful and generally just as portable (tablets) and more immediate (wearable devices) than phones can be.

 

I have little interest in Glass.

 

Why?

 

Just seems like a gimmick, not something useful that will actually catch on. Besides, wearing glasses sucks.

 

Mmm...I donno. If the idea of a smartphone is portable connectivity and "staying connected" all the time, then how is a wearable device (be it glasses or a watch) not an improvement over something that rides in your pocket?

As for wearing glasses sucking...depends on the glasses. I've got a pair of Oakleys that I can wear all day without being uncomfortable. YMMV, of course.

 

Yeah and when it's raining? And when it's cold outside and you go inside and they fog up? When you need to sneeze or blow your nose?

I've sneezed with glasses on with a minimum of disaster, also.

 

The last few have not been music related but...Star wars plus DeadMau5 equal better theme music? anyone agree?

You people and letting this thread go weeks without a post.

 

I've been busy. Ordered a 16GB RAM card for my iMac...Chrome and Aperture being the main reasons why. Those two are memory hogs. More upgrades are coming next year, though.

Also went to the John Williams spectacular in Jacksonville weekend before last...quite a blast. Two hours of excellent music.
