Years have passed since the fall of the Galactic Empire. While the Imperial Remnant still scour the galaxy, hinging on the Outer Rim terroritories, it is doubtful they will re-emerge as the galactic superpower they once were. Although a plethora of enemies still plague them, the New Republic is finally being accepted as the sole governing faction in the galaxy. It is during this time of ascension and oppurtunity, that Luke Skywalker, Jedi Master, has begun to open up the first Jedi Academy since the destruction of the Old Republic many decades ago....

This is your basic Jedi RPG, consisting of only Jedi, no Sith, no Imperial Remnant, no bounty hunters, etc. Mind you, these character genres listed will not be absent from the game: Only they will function as NPC's. (Non-playable characters) The beginning part of this RPG will follow the storyline of the Expanded Universe. Biography:

Durron was born to outspoken political activists in the Deyer colony of the barren Anoat system. When their views bordered on treason, Imperial stormtroopers raided the Durron home and rounded up the dissidents. Kyp and his parents were sentenced to hard labor at the Kessel spice mines while his older brother Zeth was drafted into the Imperial military at Carida.

A year into his sentence, Kyp's parents were killed in a prison revolt. The orphan toiled away in pitch darkness, extracting precious glitterstim for refinement in the processing centers of Kessel. During his time there, his path crossed that of a mysterious old woman named Vima-Da-Boda, who told him of the Force and helped nurture his nascent talents. But even that contact was denied him as Vima was transferred elsewhere.

For eight years Durron slaved away with little hope of liberty, until New Republic representative Han Solo and Chewbacca were incarcerated by the corrupt Kessel government. Solo and Chewbacca shared a work detail with Kyp, and the seasoned youngster provided valuable survival tips to the Republic heroes.

Solo and Chewie included Kyp in a daring prison break that saw the trio escape in a commandeered Imperial shuttle. Kyp demonstrated enormous Force-potential when he instinctively navigated his way through the maelstrom of black holes bordering the Kessel system. Although their ship was drawn into the Maw Cluster, Kyp somehow safely navigated them into the "eye" of the storm, and a top secret Imperial installation.

Although freed from the Kessel mines, Han, Chewie and Kyp were again imprisoned, this time by Imperial forces unaware that the Galactic Civil War had played itself out nearly a decade earlier. Maw Installation was a secret think tank of theoreticians and engineers carrying on the late Grand Moff Tarkin's legacy of superweapon development. Sunken into the nearly inaccessible Maw Cluster, these Imperials had no idea as to the true state of the outside galaxy.

Locked up in the complex, Solo was able to convince the naïve scientist Qwi Xux the errors of her ways and the true nature of the Empire. Breaching decades of Imperial brainwashing, Solo appealed to Qwi's passion for life, and the willowy Omwati alien liberated Solo, Chewbacca, and Kyp, and fled the Maw Cluster in the installation's most stunning achievement -- the ultimate weapon-ship, the Sun Crusher. Once in possession of the Sun Crusher, the New Republic did away with the controversial craft by plunging it into the heart of the Yavin gas giant.


In fleeing the Maw, it was again Kyp Durron who instinctively navigated his way to freedom. At this time, Luke Skywalker was gathering candidates for his newly formed Jedi academy on Yavin 4. He tested Durron and was astounded by the youth's potential. This is where the young Jedi Adept is today.

Personality: He's a bit gruff at times. Living on Coruscant in such a society does that to a young man growing up. He may be slow to make lasting friendships, but when he does make them it's as good as gold. A quick learner, but getting up there in age so it's slow learning.
Attire: Dark-blue waving Jedi robes with a red border around the shoulders that form a boxed shape of his Jedi attire.
Homeplanet: Coruscant born
Biography: Kahsa was born on the in the middle city of Coruscant. So, he was not exactly a nobleman, but better off than those in the lower city were turmoil was life. That?s not to say that his life wasn?t without trouble. As he grew up on the planet that was the Empire?s headquarters, things always seemed to be odd and out of place. What was OK one day would not be the next. Curfews were strict when they wanted, but squabbles were rarely taken care of unless they were found in the Upper Levels.
Neebo?s mother and father were lost to such nonchalant looks at the middle city crime. A theft gone badly left him without parents and the ruling government cared nothing of it. At 9 years old he was forced to work odd jobs just to feed his younger brothers and sisters, of which we had three of each. As they got older he further saw the tyranny of the Empire when he was given a job in the Upper City. More problems prevailed and soon, two of his sisters died of sickness while his boss, an Imperial Base Commander, forced him to stay and tend to his duties. When he tried to refute it, the Commander sent a squad of Storm troopers after he and his family. Neebo gathered his broken family together and hopped on the cheapest flight to Correllia. During their voyage, the Empire tracked their transport ship down. Only knowing to look for Kahsa, the storm troopers passed his three sisters and one brother alone. They made it safely there the last he knew. A rebel supporter gave him her Z-95 Headhunter and he took it into deep space.
Over the next few months he followed the news bits of the Civil War over the Universal Link and tracked down everything he could of the Rebellion. He came in contact with a few recruiters at a Cantina on Nar Shadda, but turned them down. They told him that if he ever wanted to get in on it, to just go to a specified set of coordinates and mention ?Red Squad.? He participated in a few engagements as an X-Wing pilot and then survived the Second Death Star battle as a Rebel Officer. With the Emperor supposedly dead, along with his arm ? Darth Vader - the Empire was weak and slowly leaving the public eye. Finding that he had a bit of force adeptness, he was introduced to the Jedi Academy of the legendary Luke Skywalker, Jedi Hero and savior of the galaxy. He's only just arrived.

Personality: Angry, hates authority, unruly, impulsive.

Biography: This angry young man grew up the son of a prominent starfighter designer father and an equally prominent engineering mother. His father has been having an affair for years, and his mother is too busy with her own work to even notice. It's like they don't care that their marriage is a sham. They never act like real parents and Brittany doesn't consider them to be. He has a complex about his feminine name and hates authority figures. He is very smart, a budding engineer and ship designer himself, but tends to almost throw that all away in favor of a delinquent life style. He joined the Academy on impulse, not even telling his parents where he went.

Alrighty then, good to see this finally up and running. As Mr_Sith mentioned, this RPG is going to be an Alternate Universe RPG, but will loosely follow the events surrounding the formation of the Jedi praxeum. We'll give and take with the story as we please, and take certain liberties to progress the story along. For example, i'm changing Corran Horn's background a little bit, eliminating the fact that Mirax was kidnapped by Leonia Tavira, since that would force me to cut out of the RPG early. Personally, i'm always up for suggestions about story-lines or any other way to make the RPG run smoother and become more fun for all those involved. So, feel free to send me a PM if you have any questions of suggestions.

[i]Biography[/i]:

A long descendant from the legendary Halcyon blood-line, Corran was born and raised without any knowledge of his Jedi Heritage. He followed in both his father's and his grandfather's footsteps and joined the Corellian Security Force, commonly known as CorSec. However, during a stakeout at a local cantina, Corran's father Hal Horn was murdered in cold blood by the Bounty Hunter Bossk. When the Imperial Liason to CorSec, Kirtan Loor, freed Bossk, Corran knew it was time to leave Corellia. He fled the planet with fellow CorSec officers and friends Gil Bastra and Iella Wessiri.

After bouncing around the galaxy for a number of years, hiding from the forces who sought to find and kill him, Corran soon joined the Rebellion, and became one of the members of the newly reformed Rogue Squadron and proved to be on of their best pilots. Corran flew in many missions with the Rogues, helping with such victories as the capture of Coruscant and the liberation of Thyferra. Corran's Jedi past soon surfaced, slowly at first, and he was noticed by Luke Skywalker, who was combing the galaxy for students to train in the ways of the Jedi. Corran, however, still believing there were things he needed to accomplish first, denied Luke's offer to be trained.

It was during his time with the Rogues that Corran met and fell in love with Mirax Terrik, daughter of his father's arch-rival Booster Terrik. It was their unlikely past that connected them, and the two of them were soon married. As he became more and more knowledgable of his Jedi heritage, and following the prompting of both his wife and his grandfather, Corran finally chose to join Luke's Academy, in hopes of honoring his Jedi past. Corran arrives at Yavin IV under the disguised name of Kieran Halcyon, a suggestion given to him by Master Luke, as the famous Corran Horn of Rogue Squadron might draw too much attention and interfere with his training.[/color][/b]

Biography: Vaughn was brought into the world without father or mother. In the deep and dark slums of Nar Shaddaa, a group of unsavory scientists in-exile from Vjun began project Genesis.

Project Genesis was first and foremost an attempt at evening the score between force users, such as the Emperor and Lord Vader, and normal people. They obtained genetic material from a number of sources Martial artists, Mathemeticians, Artists and, Soldiers due to the Hutts, their financial backers, weighty influence. Using this genetic information they began to synthesize a perfect soldier.

After ten disturbing failures came a brilliant success. They had managed to create a being who was genetically superior and whose midichlorian count had been raised to meteoric proportions.

As he floated in the middle of an artificial womb the Emperor's Royal guards attacked the secret lab. After destroying all of those involved either directly or indirectly. Several of the most trusted Guardsmen escorted the Artificial womb back to their master, the Emperor of Galactic Empire. Intrigued by the power that eminated from the tank he ordered a cadre of his best doctors and most brutal trainers to look after the child.

Seven months later Vaughn Antilles was born into a room devoid of any of the normal niceties associated with birth. There were no loving parents present, only cold analytical scientists and brutally dangerous men.

Within days of his birth, Vaughn was taken to the Emperor for the Second time in his short life. Palpatine, impressed by the potential that the infant seemed to possess and perhaps touched by his fabled foresight, assigned the baby to one of his most loyal servants a guardsmen by the name of Josef Serratt.

Guided by the sometimes brutal but, oftentimes caring Josef, Vaughn was molded into a passionate and driven child. He lived at the height of opulence as befits an Elite Guardsmen's son. In the mornings Vaughn and his adoptive father would practice ancient Echani Katas and later in the day Vaughn would be ushered into an Imperial education center with other high class children where he excelled.

Unfortunately, such bliss rarely lasts. At the age of seven Vaughn's world was ripped asunder. His heroic father was murdered by the Rebel Scum. Vaughn became a child without a home, without a father. In his darkest hour came his savior, His Imperial Majesty took Vaughn in as a ward of the state.

He was given food, shelter, and clothing that would make most princes envious. However these things were not given but, earned. He began special classes and excercises designed to make him worthy of the monocur "Imperial citizen". With exceptional results came exceptional rewards. Vaughn always got exceptional results.

When the Emperor was completely defeated on Byss, Vaughn was left alone. Penniless and without direction for the first time in his life, Vaughn has been stowing away throughout the Imperial Remnant. Upon seeing the uglier side of the Empire: slavery, rampant specieism, and sexism. Young Serratt has dedicated himself to the expulsion of these horrible practices.

Thusly he journeys to the Academy in search of knowledge and the strength to protect the weak... what he will find is an adventure beyond his wildest dreams.

Species: Human, short dark hair, tan skin, green eyes.
Personality: Darius is often moody and requires a great deal of meditation to center himself. He is also pensive and introspective. Behind his brooding demeanor, there is a great source of anger, which he tries to keep bottled up. Although he ejoys the company of others, he often finds himself alone, either at the library, in meditation or in combat training. He is not a true loner, but is used to being alone.
Attire: Plain brown jedi adept robes and light colored tunics.
Homeplanet: Dantooine
Biography: Darius was raised by his mother. He was the middle child out of three siblings. He has an older brother and a younger sister. Except for his infant sister, they all worked at a local mining operation. Work was arduous and lasted from sun up to sun down.

This was regular life for Darius, who hardly got to see his family. From young Darius knew he was different. He felt it, though he didn't have the words for it. He could do marvelous things and also terrible things. Because he had no real caretaker, other kids used to pick on him. Such encounters often led to fights...alot of fights. Darius learned to defend himself, although he did not always win. Then one day, his winning streak started to increase.

What he felt fascinated him and scared him all at once. Soon after, he became even more of a loner, especially since the others began to avoid him. He never told anyone about his special gifts. By now, he knew exactly how 'they' would react. He could sense it. One day at the age of 12, a stranger came. The man wore a hooded robe. Darius watched as the man spoke to his mother, whom he hardly knew. He didn't have to hear their words to know what was happening. He could sense it. When he was told that he was to go to a new home with the man, he was not surprised, but not happy about it either.

Though change was something he welcomed, this was not of his choosing. Soon, he learned what fate had in store for him. The man turned out to be a travelling jedi. Now, Darius has a new life and is steadily learning about himself, the force, his role as a jedi and his place in the Universe.

Personality: rather serious for her age

Appearance: black hair always kept in a bun, brown eyes, slightly tan skin, slightly pointed ears that hint at her 1/4 not human.

Homeplanet: She doesn't really have one. She was born on a ship and has traveled from place to place her whole life.

Biography: Gyeren's family are direct descendants of a Jedi who barely managed to escape the Jedi Temple with her life when Darth Vader went to purge the Temple. Not wanting to be found, the young Jedi(My character's grandmother, Gyeren Feli I) changed her name and kept moving from place to place, eventually finding a place on a transport that hauled cargo from one place to another. She fell in love, married and had a family, all while staying in the cargo business.

Her first born daughter(Wren's mother), she secretly named after herself, Gyeren Feli, though the child went through life answering to Jenny. When Jenny was old enough, she was told the truth about her mother, swearing to keep it secret. Jenny left that ship for another when she fell in love with another spacer, and like her mother, had a child and named her Gyeren Feli, calling her Wren until discovering the existance of the Jedi Academy.

She knew that young Wren was force sensitive, as she herself was, and felt it safe to tell Wren the story as she heard it. Now going by Gyeren Feli, Wren decides to follow the path set by her grandmother and become a Jedi Knight.

Biography:

Born to two traders from Alderaan, Rian was off planet when the empire destroyed it. He spent the rest of his youth bouncing from planet to planet with his family, living in the cheaper parts of starports. He becamse proficient in back alley scuffling, learning young that those who could not fight, died. In order to get his thrills he took up swoop racing. He started to become moderatly famous in the corporate sector for his luck in illegal racing, which caught the eye Master Skywalker.

 

OOC: God I'm so friggin dumb. I wanted to play Luke but I figured somebody already had him on lockdown.

 

OOC: I'm currently discussing him with another user. If he takes it, we'll probably start right then. If not, Corran-Horn and myself will share Luke, as he is quite integral to the progress of the RPG.

Biography:

Born on Ryloth as a baby boy to the parents Jolane and Sruud Guah, Zukaam lived a kind childhood, Ryloth wasn't as graceful as his parents had made it seem, but it was better then the other option, Nar Shadaa. They were stowaways aboard a new republic vessel docking a clearance number and a special informat for the republic themselves, they had a high bounty, a couple of remnants of the force were worth a bargain if they were sold to a hutt scum on Kessel. Zukaam's tradgedy began when his brother were turned into the empire just before the war and killed with the destruction of the death star.

Zukaam's approach to this was certain, he grew up angry but his restraints were nothing but his parents, loving adults and elderly now on the planet Tatooine, living the dream of the twin suns. He wasn't shown the ways of the force until now a student at the academt, a mere adept into the force as the rest of the adepts at the Jedi Academy on Yavin 4.

Species: Togruta. red skin, white around the eyes, blue and cream stripped 'horns' (Montrals)
Personality:While Tj often works alone, she has no problem workin in large crowds. It reminds her of being back on her homeworld. Places like spaceports and other areas where large amounts of people tend to get together seem to draw her attention.
Attire TJ likes to wear long flowing skirts, and tops that dont restrict momement. She wears pants underneath and usually boots. Browns, red and dark green tend to be her favorite colors. At the moment, brown skirt, red top, and green cloak are her current atire.

Biography:Ta'izz life started out pretty peacefull. for the most part, her people avoided the wars and such. Being a communal minded species, she grew up with a large group that ocnstantly roamed accross the lush planet. However, she soon noticed that she seemed to pick up things the others did not. At first, it was annoying. She would try and speak out, to tell what she felt, but as a youngling, her comments got curied within the communitys wishes. She started sticking out more and more on her own, trying ot make sense of what was happening to her. She wanted more. It wasnt until she was 14 that things changed for her.

A ship, and LOTS of people visited. She was drawn to them, curious. She spoke to them, and found out that they were looking for the ones called Jedi. She knew that name. It was in the history of her poeple. One of their legends revolved around a Togruta who was a Jedi. Ta'iazz always loved that sotry. The people told her that they would be leaving in 2 days. She could decided by then, if she wanted to go. Ta'izz thought for a long time. She was getting unhappy with her group. She flet as if there was something more that she should be doing. So she decided to go with the strangers.

She learned much, traveling with these new strangers. Her intuition, and skills helped them out of many scrapes. And within 3 months, they eventually found where the Jedi had been gathering. So she now finds herself with them here. And she found out why she was seeing things that the others in her group could not. She is force sensative.

She is now learning the ways of the Force as an Adept.

Biography: Kam's father was a Jedi Master, named Ranik Solusar. They did their best to evade the Purge, but eventually it caught up to them. Kam escaped with his life, but his father was killed. Dark Jedi tortured Kam into submission to their master Sidious, and he became a Dark servent of Palpatine. However, one day Kam fought himself against the blade of Luke Skywalker. Rather than killing him, it redeemed him, and Kam became one of Luke's first new Jedi.

IC: Luke Skywalker -Jedi Academy, Yavin IV

It had come. The sands of time had been kind to Luke. They had led him through the Galactic Civil War. Through his father. Through the founding of the New Republic. And now, they had led him to this. As a Jedi Master, he had to resurrect the Jedi Order, by himself. Although he still had visions and dreams of his father, he felt alone. And it wasn't as much a bad thing as one would think. It was simply: I'm alone. He felt no regret, no disdain. He just felt, alone. And it was as bare as that. In the auditorium, before him, seated, was his very first class. If there was ever a picture that could capture the essence of diversity, it would be this one.

I sure have my work cut out for me, but I look forward to it, to helping these people achieve what they have longed for. It's quite the test for an opening bunch. Former Imperials, thieves, slaves, biological projects. Also, most of them are kids. I just hope that I don't fail them.

The auditorium was still buzzing with chatter. Luke could already sense the bonds being forged, and the rifts being sewn. For the last 10 minutes, the Jedi Master had been conversing with just about as many adepts as he could. Among him, he had a Rogue Squadron pilot, who descended from a strong Force bloodline. One girl, he recalled, also had a Jedi bloodline, dating all the way back to her Grandma. Quite serious, as well. He had also encountered one Kam Solusar, a surivor of the Jedi Purge. If anything, this would be quite a unique experience for Luke. He hoped he would gain quite a bit more than simply that, though.

The Jedi Master strode to the stage, and tried to quiet the crowd.

"Everybody....everybody...if I may have your full attention."

The crowd quieted, and all eyes were on him.

"I would like to welcome you all to the Jedi Academy. Congratulations on getting here, and being the very first class," Luke smiled. "Although many of you differ in race, age, and personality, none of you are better than the other. We're all equal here, and we're all striving towards the same goal: to furthen and establish the Jedi Order in the New Republic, to bring peace, and hope to a galaxy that is still riddled by war, and suffering."

He gazed over the audience. Some weren't paying attention, but he had still captivated most of the others.

"Since this is the opening class of the New Jedi Order, I will be training all of you by myself. Although I may not be able to reach out to all of you like a traditional Master-Apprentice pairing would, I will do my best to see to it that you all become honorable Jedi. Now, if any of you have any questions, now is the time."
