The compound interest and financial success Rule Of 72 is the most important and simple rule of financial success. Learn about it here!

Or there's always M72, one of Messier's globular clusters, discovered in the night of August 29-30, 1780.

73 - 73% of Ameicans unable to believe this.

Sorry, links to potential offensive sites, in this case the title of the article's curse word, are not allowed, so the link to the Onion.com page was removed. Linking to the Onion.com in and of it's self isn't against the rules, just that particular article. Thanks.

I figured that message would get edited - I just couldn't find anything else for 73 (other than things that happened in 1973) - and that article was just too funny.

76=The Philadelphia 76'ers; the team who has the biggest cry-baby/worst sports role model, Allen "The Answer" Iverson. What a jag bag.

80 - The age at which I will open my unopened Star Wars stuff and play with it all. (However, I will not open the food stuff and try to eat it at that time - I think that stuff'll stay sealed at least until the day I die, or an extreme famine hits, whichever comes first.) :)

81 - UN0081, the United Nations classification for hazardous materials for Explosives, Blast, Class A. I've always wanted to have that on a bill at work, that and grenades, but we never seem to do that. I think our company isn't rated for it.

82 - 1982, the only year our beloved Milwaukee Brewers made it to the World Series (and not surprisingly, lost)

88: Lines about 44 women, a song by the Nails (Not the Nine Inch Nails, just plain "The Nails") in the 80s. Or, for a more Star Wars-y answer, the robotic hat rack killing machine, IG-88.
