I.E., CA ~The Offical Idea Thread~

Here we can post all of our ideas! And as many as we want!!!! and whatever kind we want!!! Take it and go IE!!!

 

Just to elaborate on the purpose of this thread:

Well, like it says, it's for any and all idea for events or whatnot. Please post them here first to see if there is club interest. If there is a general interest, then they can get posted as their own threads where we can plan and organize.

 

First idea of the thread:

While talking to several of the officers at a San Diego event yesterday, they suggested that since our group is so new, if we wished, we could crash a San Diego meeting. Our group could meet together an hour earlier to have our small little meeting, then the San Diego group would show up and have their meeting.

It would just be a fun meet and greet to get to know more Star Wars fans and to also get ideas (and see how a fully armed and operational battle sta... eh... Fan Force works).

 

I think this is a GREAT idea!! i am all for this!

 

-Pre-4th of July picnic (Anita's idea)
-Watching the movie in theaters, or a SW day to see either prequel or classic trilogy or all six.
-Making a SW film (see Fan Film thread)
-Costume and prop making day at someone's house

 

A costuming workshop would be an awesome idea to hold, especially with Comic Con coming up. Anyone else interested?

 

Another idea that was raised was having a get-together at ComicCon, since several of us are going to be down there. After hours, breakfast, or lunch even.

 

There's so many club breakfasts and dinners going on, I say we aim for lunch.

 

Sports Events Outings.

Charity Events - I have an idea for Christmas, but I'll raise it nearer the time. Don't want to think about it at the moment,June already!!!

Picketing Crap Movies. Only joking.

SD may be a bit far to go sit in on a meeting. Can we send a scout to go and report for us?

And honestly guys? Driving is going to be a given in this group. We're not a small cluster where we all live like 10 minutes away from each other. Someone's gonna have to drive no matter what. (Just thought I'd warn ya).

 

Driving twenty minutes is one thing---San Diego is something else entirely, from my end of the IE anyway. Especially with gas prices as they are. I certainly support anyone interested in going to the SD to hang out or see how another FF does things, but I'll have to pass.

All we are *right now* is a small group of grownups who want to get together. I've started groups a few different times and while it can be tough, it's really not THIS hard. Why not just pretend we met and decided to hang out like anyone else? As things start taking off, THEN worry about *how to run things.* Just a thought.

Here's a last minute idea: Anyone up for checking out Batman Begins? It opens tomorrow.

Yeah, considering there have been ideas ranging from bowling to baseball, Batman is just another activity-filled B word around here! heh heh.

Still, I'm more than up for another crack at ROTS. HEY, has anyone seen it digital?

Anyways, back to the Idea Thread...

 

I have some ideas.

This one is kind of last minute and rather far but I do have a football game this sat and its the last one of the season. I can get tickets for 5 bucks a pop if need be.

Another is this - Los Angeles Philharmonic : Video Games Live July 6th at the Hollywood Bowl
ticket prices range from $1 - $92.

 

Since Luna has neglected to go check into the "new memebers" (yes, I know you're not new ), she plays for the Los Angeles Amazons. I can't make your game this weekend, babe, but it'd be a great event for next season, perhaps!

 

So where's a good venue for seeing ROTS again? Ontario?

 

Batman came out last night so they took RotS out of the IMAX.

 

Video game songs performed by an orchestra + choir. They will have a lazer light show and everything.

Curses!! This is what I get for dragging my feet. Probably a lot of theaters still showing ROTS have moved them over to the smaller screens. I could still be persuaded to go again, though. Anyone up for it besides Sith?

 

I am. The boot I have is almost intolerable except for the fact that it is the whole movie and with decent sound.
