Speculation The Worst Possible Good Directors for the ST

Michael Bay stopped being good after The Rock.

OTOH, accusations of racist jokes/characters would be completely accurate if he'd directed Episode I.

 

Duncan Jones. I think he is really special and can do scifi, as evidenced in Moon and Source Code, but I just don't think a Star Wars film would be a good fit for him.

 

Peter Jackson, because then I'd have to sit in the theater for upwards of 3 hours only to discover that the movie was only part 1 of 3 of Episode VII

 

But the scenery porn would be magnificent

 

Yes, nothing like spectacular scenery to lull me to sleep

 

I'm going with M. Night Shamalan. Sure, Michael Bay would suck as a director, but at least Episode VII would be a box office hit. Peter Jackson would also be a pretty bad choice for director, but still not as bad as the man who gave us The Last Airbender.

Say what you will, but they should have brought in QT to help with the dialogue of the PT. He would have helped with the awkward dialogue. Plus when it comes to understanding the strong female and her motives, QT is excellent.

 

He's good with dialogue but not Star Wars type dialogue, more real world stuff. though anything would be an improvement over "wish I could wish my feelings away". I think females have been handled decently in Star Wars compared to some other action franchises.

 

Peter Jackson - 3 films of people walking.

Michael Bay - 3 films of non-stop explosions.

M.Night Shamalamadingdong - three films of flimsy, unintelligible plot.
