It was confusing and Vergere had a lot of philosophies that I don't agree with

 

This is my favourite book in the entire NJO series. There were a few minor flaws, but I loved the intense and involving reading it provided... so philosophical and different to the usual books. It's good to see how Jacen has developed through the whole story.

 

Not only is this my favorite SW novel, it's one of my favorite books EVER. Matthew Stover completely transformed Jacen from a character I didn't really care about into "the living Jedi dream". Stover's prose and story are both incredible and believable. Highly recommended, along with "Shatterpoint" and "Revenge of the Sith". What can I say...I'm a Stover junkie!

 

Best book besides Deestinies Way and UF in the NJO. It was one of the few NJO books i could get interested in. bVergere was sweet, and so was jacen going beserk on the seedship, along with Ganner going out in a blaze of glory. It was also nice to see Anakin as a spirit

10, a great book indeed.

 

Stover's three "Star Wars" books are the best in the Expanded Universe. "Traitor" gets a 10 from me. Great philosophy, intense action, confronting scenes, interesting characters and a creative writing style...what else can one ask for?

 

Though I stopped reading NJO after Jedi Eclipse, I plan to read this in the coming months. Stover is a genius.

I am sure you will like this novel, it is one of the most popular, if not THE most popular novel in the NJO.

 

Stover is brilliant anyway.

I give it a 10, this was my favorite of the NJO books so far (I only have about 3 left to go). I read this book once about a year ago, and just read it again recently. After reading it, Vergere has become one of my favorite characters. The book really left me thinking about the jedi ways, and what the force really is. The climax was also excellent, and I enjoyed each of the conversations between Jacen and Vergere. This is definently one of the best Star Wars books that I've ever read.

I consider it besides Star by Star and The Unifying Force to be the best of the NJO novels, and Matthew Stover rocks!

 

10. Traitor is one of only three SW novels that transcend pop fiction to true literature. Take a stab at guessing the other two .

 

Great writing. One of the best books I've ever read. It gets 9 from me only because it had its confusing moments. Ganner Rhysode was a good character.

 

5. Great author, but super boring characters.

 

I can't stand Jacen, and Vergere gets annoying after a while, so a 3. I had to force myself to keep reading until the last part of the book with Ganner's Last Stand, which wins a place in my top listing of coolest moments in literature.

I kept wishing that Jacen would somehow manage to kill himself, but to no avail.

 

Definitely a ten, I think this was the first NJO book to really impress me after reading the Edge of Victory duology and Star by Star. (Though Rebel Dream and Rebel Stand were as servicable as the X-Wing novels).

Plus, Stover forging Jacen into a more likeable character helped ease the blow of Anakin's death.

Best Star Wars book ever written.

 

I dont really like Jacen, and vergere is interesting to say the least. I thought ganner was a dope, but the book is awesome. it is a great book. one of the best no doubt.

 

Fantastic book, gotta love a dark style in SW novels, no wonder Stover got Ep III

Before I read this book, I never really liked Jacen's character. Now, thanks to Matthew Stover, Jacen is one of my favorites. I used to hate how Jacen tried being a complete pacifist and how he was always thinking and never acting or talking. He's still that way after this book somewhat but now he's transformed into a much cooler character. Some people might be bothered by all the philosophy in this book but I rather enjoed it. It is by far the most philosophical NJO book. I also enjoed how Stover made me like Ganner. In contrast to hating Jacen's former pacifism, I always hated Ganner's showmanship. At the end he was a real Jedi, one who didn't care about showing off.

Best NJO book by far.

 

I'm not a Jacen fan, but this was pretty good. It really made me think. All the concepts about pain were very interesting.

 

Unfortunately, Traitor was the only SW novel (and one of two books ever) I couldn't finish - I found it incredibly boring. Jacen's mindscape just didn't hook me.
