So NV Vampire the Requiem : Red Harvest

Hello all. Some how the vampire game got started up again at the last star wars game. For those of you that have played my games before I will be continuing the Amadora Damato campaign which I have entitled "Red Harvest". Anyone is free to join and it will be replacing the Star Wars timeslot. So this sunday @ 3:00 @ Borders on Rainbow and Lake Mead.

The setting is Las Vegas, it is a city controlled by the Invictus. So far there are four players, 3 Invictus and 1 Crone. Please PM me with something about your character if you are already playing or wish to play.

The questions on page 96 of the Vampire the Requiem Core book would be a good start. I want your characters to have a history. Help me make this game a good one.
So answer the following questions about your character.

How old are you? (Keep in mind I allow 75 xp at character creation)
What was unique about your childhood?
What kind of person were you?
what was your first brush with the Supernatural?
How did the embrace change you?
Who was your sire, and how did she treat you?
Were you presented to Kindred society?
Where is your Haven?
Do you retain any connections to your mortal life?
What are your habitual feeding grounds?
What Motivates you?
What are your long and short term goals?

Vampire the Requiem House rules

Botch rule: Normally in Vampire you can only Botch if reduced to one die and you roll a one. I have a house rule where on any rolls 1s cancel out 1 success. If you have more 1s then successes then you Botch. This rule actually came about from misreading the rules initially but I have players that actually like it so it has been reinstated.

I have no restrictions on Clan, Covenant or Bloodline. You may start as a human if you so desire, perhaps one of the other players could end up being your sire.

If you take your characters seriously then I will too.

Umm... doesn't that mean the BETTER you are at something, the MORE chance you have at FAILING?

 

ahhh the cruel World of Darkness and its bitter ironies. (and no statistically the changes are the same. Now if 5 dice with a 1 on them were a spectacular botch then you'd have a better chance at a ever worse failure but that would just be cruel)

 

It's not that I don't trust you, Big D, but... Are you sure?

I mean, think about it;

I'm pretty sure the chances of being reduced to 1 die and rolling a 1 are much lower than rolling more 1s than 8s, 9s and 0s on multiple dice.

But hey, if that's house rules, then that's house rules.

Well I will throw it up to a vote at the next game. Hopefully all players will be there and whatever we all decide will be the rule going forward but Petra and Janka like the rule so that two for it already.

Okay Darth of NM I have good news and badd news. Good News: I approve your bloodline. Bad news: I want more. Your bloodlines weakness is too....well weak, make it hurt a little more.

Now did you simply want Auspex as your Bloodline's discipline or did you want a unique discipline?

okay players , apparently my Dad has gone and had a Birthday that happens to fall on our glorious gameday. So I'm afraid there will be no game this Sunday.

I don't think any of us remembered that this sunday is mother's day. Thank you for bringing that to our attention. And the game that was decided was d20 Future...or modern...whatever you wanna call it. Cause the base classes are found in the modern book and we start out at level 2.

 

No I think Im gonna have to cancel, with all the moms and grandmoms in my life. Sorry everyone.

Hey guys, I've been thinking it over, and...

I've decided the Requiem game just isn't really meshing with me.

Nothing personal to anybody, especially Darryl, but I'm gonna drop out.

I'd still like to be in the D20 Future, though, if that's alright.

 

Id be interested in learning what isnt meshing for you? Do you not like the story or what?

 

I wish I could put into words what isn't meshing for me, Ax, I really do.
But I can't.
Sometimes you try playing games that, for some reason or another, you just don't "feel".

But I CAN tell you this, the problem is NOT you or anyone else in the group, as a GM, a player or a person.
You guys are cool, and I like you.

It's just the game.

If it makes you feel any better, the fact that no one else has mentioned any problems can be used as a sign that there's nothing wrong with the game.
It's just that I'm not the right type of player for it.
