You're planning to come to Poland too? Any ideas about what you'd like to see?

Yes I am planning on Poland as well. The only place I have planned for Poland so far is a small town called 'Brody'. Chasing family history and all. . .I have not planned much other then that. . . I am pretty much, get there and see type of person. . .I know the rest of the world is not quite like that.

Well, for the past few weeks, life got really hectic and plans where changed. I left one job and now have another one. I am not to sure (yet) on what type of hoildays I can get while at this job. but I am sure to work that out shortly.

I leave this new job in Jan next year (if all goes well) and so then I would do some touring in Feb 09 (and thats not the best time to see the northern hemisphere) Hopefully I can see a lot of that before that time.

I have two weeks of now. . but its not fair, and probly to hard to orgnise something with other country's (beyond England). At the moment I have it as I will see most of England this comning week (Mon 18th - mon 25th) and Isle of Man for a week (25-3rd March) but if I could get somewhere in that week, it would be much better.

Any inconvenience caused is payed back with cute little Australian Animals. . .

Just three or four days in one country? That's short!
Do you already know which cities and places you want to visit within the countries? I think it'll be impossible to see everything with such a short time. So I suggest to add a 'favorite sight-seeing list' as well. ;) :)

It's good that the dates are flexible. But how do you organise the sleeping places? Most hotels and hostels like fixed dates.

Well, that it is going ahead! I fly on on the 16th of Nov.
Those dates are pretty much what I will try and work to, but I will try adn get at least 4 days in each country.

I am taking the train around, and I hope to meet up with as many Star Wars Fan Forces as possible! and I am SO looking forward to it all, and I am going to be so tired by the end of in it, I will just sleep on the plane all da way home! I am kinda nervous, as I dont speak or read anything but english. (I know the tiniest bit of french,) So I am not sure how I am gonna get around in non-english conuntrys with out making a complete fool of my self.

Don't worry about just speaking English. In my view it's the most important language and the language you need to get around well. I think that you'll find English speaking people in every country (more or less easily) and in Germany for sure, since all of us get teached English in school. :)

But if you need any help, just let us know. :)

And will you really visit Cologne/Köln or West-Germany? :)

If you come to cologne, I can say for sure (at least me), because I would love to meet you in RL and I'm from Köln. ;)

If it's somewhere else or you want to meet more of us, you have to get Mel/Lanna to organise a meeting. She's good at that. ;) :D

Well, I posted a thread in each Country, so I hope to talk more in them. I am kinda nervous because, I posted in english nad I didnt really want to use a translation site, cuase I know how funny it is to just translate from English, to something and then back, its almost un-readable and funny! So I am not sure. . .and I was looking at a map of europe and relised that it would be better to go to Germany after France cause of the way its situated. . .so. . .

Isle of Man - 3rd to 8th Oct
    England - 8th to 13th
    France - 13th to 18th
    Germany - 18th to 22nd
    Denmark - 22nd to 26th
    Sweden - 26th to 30th
    Poland - 30th to 2nd Nov
    Rome - 2nd to 8th
    Greece - 8th to 13th
    Ireland -13th to 16th
    Australia - 18th - . . . . .

Its a hell of a lot, and not much time and very little money and I will be SOOOO dead by the end of it, but soo looking forward to it. . . I am scared and excited and worried and looking forward to it, and planning and . .. .AH! I AM KOOKY!!

Which part of Poland are you going to see? Because you know, the eastern half is already in the Belarussian area of influence (at least that's what we in the civilized west believe :p). As long as you're reasonable and choose to stay in the more beautiful and cleaner part, I can lend you a hand. I strongly advise seeing Wroclaw and Gdansk.

Also, where's the village you're going to visit? Brody is a pretty common name, every region has one or two of them ;)

Other then to find my family heritage, I have no real idea on what to see or Do in Poland. . .like so many of the other places I intent to visit. I am trying to find out from Locals whats good, and then work in touristy things after that in time I have left. I would love to come and visit, *makes note to visit Wroclaw and Gdansk*

Its near the bottom east(?) of Poland, its near Germany. I will see if I can get the other name, or the names of the people I am looking for from mum. (She did the family history)
